this is a complete embarrassment to the NBA. The game wasn`t ever close, ending score didn`t do justice to ass-whipping Lakers took. Right now Nuggets are by far best team in West
The problem with the Lakers is their lack of focus. They have killer instinct. ONLY if the team they are playing is an elite team. Most of their losses this year came against "inferior" opponents. It's like their minds are on the NBA Finals. What they need to realize is that they have to BEAT the teams in the Western Conference first.
Utah. The Lakers looked BORED playing them and it nearly bit them in the ass. Houston? Tougher, but once they lost Yao, they became "inferior". The Lakers do not play well against inferior teams for some strange reason. You can see it in their play. The nonchalantly play and have a "who cares?" look. But their games against Cleveland and Boston? They played HARD the entire game and swept them both. It's weird.
IF the Lakers make it to the Finals, I will not be worried. You will actually see the real Laker team. They will actually be focused and played hard the entire time. Now, who will their opponent be? My prediction is.......
BOSTON. That's right. I hate the Celtics and really want to see their demise. BUT, even I have to admit that they are playing with tremendous heart. Tremendous will. They are showing the heart of a champion. Rondo is GARBAGE. But, he is playing out of his mind right now. He is a key reason why the Celtics are playing so well. Forget Pierce, Rondo is the MVP right now on that team. Oh, why is Rondo garbage? Do you trust his outside shot? Exactly.... Big Baby is also GARBAGE, but he is playing like a man possessed. KG is a huge loss, but the way Big Baby is playing, the Celtics can make it to the Finals. Why?
Cleveland is hugely OVERRATED. All this sweeping in the playoffs is smoke and mirrors. How so? Look at who they are playing. Detroit? They mailed it in by Valentine's Day. Atlanta? Give me a break! Those guys wouldn't even be in the Western Conference playoffs, yet they are #4 in the East? Jokes. Complete jokes.
Orlando? Good team, I just don't think they are ready yet. If Boston wins game 5, series over for Orlando. Then again, they did sweep the Lakers in the regular season. I hope they do lose...hee hee
About Lebron James. The guy is a phenom no doubt. But answer this? How come he never sees the same defense that Kobe Bryant sees? In order for Kobe Bryant to drive the lane in a typical half court set, Kobe has to go through all 5 defenders, the coaches, the cheerleaders, the radio announcers, Bob the hot dog guy, Osama Bin Laden and on top of that, the Great Wall of China! He is trapped every time he touches the ball. The defense is relentless on him and they would rather have him shoot outside shots. Lebron? Their paint defense is about as good as a sheet of notebook paper in a furnance. As I watched the Cavs series, how many times did you see Lebron skipping through the pea patch, tossing flowers to all the bunnies he saw, blow kisses to Mom and cook a 7 course meal on his way to the basket? No one bodied him. No one ever hard fouled him. Whatever happened to the "Bad Boys" of Detroit? They became the "Toilet paper boys" of Detroit. That was ridiculous. Plus, did Atlanta even try to guard him? The guy is good, he deserved the MVP, but come on, at least TRY to guard him.
Cleveland will actually face a team that will play defense. Lebron is good, but are the other guys able to handle the pressure. Seriously, is there anyone else on the Cavs (*snicker*) that strike fear in you? If Boston plays Cleveland, they will beat "King James" and his merry band of stiffs.
I honestly don't know if the Lakers will make it. They haven't learned how to destroy everyone in their paths yet. They only play when they face an "elite" team and unfortunately, that's only Cleveland, Boston or Orlando. Man, I hope we can make it....
Hey grizzly, then you haven't been paying attention. The Lakers ARE a great team. Their Achilles heel is their constant lack of focus against "inferior" opponents. They will win, they will just aggravate Laker fans in the process. If you ever paid attention to me, I NEVER say my team is invincible. I can't control sports. Anyone that says their team is a foregone conclusion is looking for disaster.
I guess you missed that part where I said they have killer instinct, ONLY if they play elite teams. Read next time.....
I really do think that it will be the Lakers versus Boston in the Finals. If that happens, Lakers win in 6.
Grizzly.....c'mon man, stop with the "I'm a Lakers fan" stuff. If you were a TRUE Lakers fan, first of all, you would have said so in your original post. SECOND of all, you wouldn't start a thread blasting your favorite team that still has control of the series. Third, you wouldn't said the whole crap about Shaq and Kobe. Any TRUE Laker fan knows that Shaq was part of the reason, but NOT the whole reason why the Lakers won those titles. Did you ever stop and think that Shaq NEEDS another superstar to win? Stop with the "you're really a Lakers fan" crap. I don't even want you close to being associated with being a fan.
You say you don't wear the same "rose colored glasses" that I do and can see flaws in your team. Dude, are you even paying attention? Really. Are you even paying attention to anything? Where in any of my posts DID I NOT MENTION ANY FLAWS? This team is a GREAT team. The problem is, they have an arrogance about themselves. NEWS FLASH! I just mentioned a flaw! Paying attention? Probably not. Anyway, because they made it to the Finals last year, they feel that anything other than the Finals is "beneath" them. Which is very dangerous. It could come back to bite them in the ass. Oh wait, did I wear "rose colored" glasses?
Everyone knows that if the Lakers played with full intensity they are the team to beat. IF (here's where you're supposed to pay attention), IF the Lakers make it to the Finals, then you will see them pay full attention. They make it to the Finals, I think us TRUE Lakers fans will be at a parade in downtown LA sometime in June....
Man, you are NOT a Lakers fans. Stop pretending to be one...
Dude, STOP. You are not a Laker fan. If you were, the first thing out of your mouth in the first post is "I'm a Lakers fan". You didn't claim Lakers until after I responded. The sad part is, you're not even supporting the Lakers. Name ONE positive thing you have said about them? You doubt the STAR player, you called them a complete embarrassment to the NBA and said Denver is the best team in the West.
THEN, you say Laker fans make excuse after excuse. So "Laker fan", what excuse did I make? By the way, what DO you like about the Lakers? Stop being a buster and admit you are not a Lakers fan. IF you are a Lakers fans, you can be critical, but you would also show support. You have yet to do that. 400 games? Yeah, right.
what a weak response, I expected better from you.
I have been to over 400 games and I can see from your response that you haven`t come close to that number. You whined and whined when the Lakers got beat last year, I wasn`t happy about it but I didn`t make excuses, you did that enough for all us fans. When we really needed Kobe he didn`t step up like true leaders do.
Just like I thought. You are nothing but a mouth. Anyone reading this can see that you are NOT a Laker fan. Laker fans do not start threads calling their favorite team an embarrassment to the NBA. It is one freakin game and they are an embarrassment to the NBA? That's Laker hater talk.
You still haven't mentioned what you like about the Lakers. Tell me "Mr. Laker fan", WHY do you like the Lakers? Don't punk out and avoid the question. Oh wait, that's what Laker haters do....punk out.
Grizzly. Dude, you claiming to be a Lakers fan is laughable. I have been to games, but not close to 400. But, why should I? After all, when you know some players, that's good enough. Can you claim that?
Going to games does not mean you are a die hard fan. You in fact, I highly DOUBT you went. Why do I think this? First of all, you have not said one positive thing about the Lakers. Why would you even argue with a "fellow" Laker fan about a team you supposedly love? I'm still waiting for you to say why you like the Lakers. All you ever do is rip them.
Another reason why I doubt you're a Lakers fan has to do with your posting history. I decided to see if you EVER posted about the Lakers before this ridiculous thread and I found some interesting things in your history on this forum. For example:
You claim that you went to over 350 Mets games. You also said you've been to hundreds of Braves games. Sound familiar to you? Let me get this straight. You've been to a combined 850 games (400 LOS ANGELES Laker games, 350 NEW YORK Mets games, & at least 100 ATLANTA Braves games). THREE DIFFERENT CITIES in DIFFERENT parts of the country. Break out a map. LA, New York and Atlanta are nowhere near each other. Do you do ANYTHING ELSE in life? You sure seem to spend a lot of time at games in three different cities. Seems very odd....
What were those posts about with the Braves and Mets? Same style. You claim to go to hundreds of these games, so you're an "expert". How convenient. Dude, I think you really need to stop while you're behind. It's painfully obvious that you're not a Lakers fan. A FAN defends his team. A FAN may point out the negatives, but will ALWAYS point out the positives as well. You have FAILED to do so in this thread. Everyone knows I defend the Lakers. I have pointed out their flaws, but I also defend them and point out their positives.
Go ahead. Review my posting history. You will see me defend my team with passion. I have defended Kobe Bryant more than anyone else on this board. I have the man in my signature on this forum. I have argued and defended him so much on his behalf, you just may think that I actually know the guy....... hmmmmmmmmmm
You can shut your trap now about being this "Laker fan". Anyone reading this knows you're a fraud and make things up to "sound" like you know what you're talking about. People may not agree with my views (Lord knows I've had many battles), but the one thing my supporters and detractors can say is that they KNOW I am a Lakers fan through and through. Can't say the same about you can we?
As for game 6, they lost. Oh well. We will be ready for game 7. At least we better be...

Cleveland overrated huh? It's only the best season of the franchise but who's looking right? I like the way overrated's looking from here baby!
And there is one thing LeBron knows that Kobe lacks.......ASSIST!!! Kobe's had the rep for being a ball hog almost from the day he walked on the Lakers' court. LeBron would pass the ball to me if it meant it gets in the basket-you simply can't guard against that!
That's right, they swept the Pistons and Hawks; you know why? They were supposed to! If the team's that weak in the NBA, they should be destroyed; they're getting paid too much for poor performance. Maybe they'll watch the tapes and pull it together next year. Or they can sit on their couches and watch the rest of the playoffs because they're out of it! And I hope Cleveland goes to the finals right off the broken backs of the Celtics-I can hardly wait! What I'd love to see (but isn't realistic) is the Cavs sweeping the Celtics off the court in four!
Now I said all of that to say this; I'm NOT a huge Cavs fan, but I am a strong Cleveland fan. I'm tired of my city being the butt of everyone's joke! I'm not even a fan of LeBron; off the court he's not much better than the typical professional athlete (he's just a little quieter with it). We won't even get started on his mother; she needs an island of her own with all the liquor she can drink with a huge big screen tv so she can get as drunk as she wants without embarrassing the hell out of her son while he's trying to play the game he gets paid to do!
Prime, love ya', but when it comes to the game of basketball, we're never going to agree. Everyone else who says Cleveland is overrated, just keep watching.........
couldnt agree more, cleveland being called overrated is a joke. They have won every one of their games in the playoffs by double digits none the less. Now as far as Lebron being better than Kobe i wouldnt say that just yet. Let Lebron prove himself for a few more years than ill be ready to say he is better than Kobe. I think he will be in a few years but i personally dont think he is quite there yet
Wow, I am actually surprised the Celtics lost. This means Cleveland will be in the Finals. Orlando is a good team, but I don't think they can beat Cleveland. Boston had the heart and enough talent to beat Cleveland. Outside of Dwight Howard, no one else on Orlando is terrifying.
I am laughing at Boston's plight, but I really thought they would make it to the Finals. That team did have heart. Oh well..
Lakers go on to the WCF. This time the Lakers "should" better attention because they are so close to their goal. The problem with the Lakers is that ever since the beginning of the season, people wondered if they could keep their focus for the whole season. Then they clinched the Western Conference #1 seed early. They had nothing to play for in over a month. That kind of complacency showed up in the playoffs. Now, if the Lakers decide to take the initiative and focus on the games, they can sweep the Nuggets. But Denver is playing with so much confidence, they will challenge the Lakers.
My predictions? Lakers in 6. Cleveland in 6. Get ready for Kobe-Lebron marketing hype....
