Lakers Owner Dr Jerry Buss Passes..

I just read that Lakers Owner Dr Jerry Buss passed away of cancer today at age 80.

Dr Buss was a high profile, innovative owner who achieved great success with the Lakers, winning NBA titles, and employing high profile coaches Pat Riley and Phil Jackson, as well as Hall of Fame Caliber players such as Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Shaq O Neal and Kobe Bryant.

RIP Dr Buss.

Man, this sucks. Dr. Jerry Buss, who I consider the greatest sports owner ever, passed away today. It is a sad day in Lakerland and across the country for a man who was an innovator, and a dedicated owner. He created "Showtime" and made the Lakers a household franchise. His presence will surely be missed....

I just hope his son finally realizes his errors and become a much better "President of basketball operations". His daughter Jeannie runs the business side, so I hope she sits her brother down and tells him to stop making knucklhead decisions (Mike D'Antoni is one of those decisions) and get the Lakers going again.

Very sad

Primetime, I completely agree. I am from the NJ, but have been a Laker fan my entire life. This is truly a sad day for me as a fan of not only the Lakers, but sports in general. A buddy of mine whom is a die hard Yankee fan felt the same sadness when George Steinbrenner passed away. Truly a sad day.

Jim Buss is a big part of why this team is having such a wash of a season. This is not true Laker basketball like how I have always remembered it. Jeanie Buss is our only hope. This guys needs to get his head out of his ass and see all the wrong moves that are being made here.

My goal is to fly out to L.A. sometime real soon to actually be able to go to Staples Center and see a game for the first time. I want to experience all the magic that the late Dr. Buss created. R.I.P.
