Large Video Files

A few of us have mentioned that we don't particularly like hacha (in english or spanish) or unzipping and uniting multiple clips. So now everyyone seems to be posting long clips in this format. Will this be the wave of the future? I would be grateful for the shorter clips that we can open the old fashioned way? Please? I have the option of viewing the clips or not so I have chosen not to view these longer clips. I like uniformity but everyone seems to post their clips in different formats. I hate to seem the bad guy but this is how I feel and I hope some others feel the same way. Maybe the administrator of the site could consider starting a separate section and call it "Large VidClip Corner." Thank you.

Thats a good idea, Floyd! A subsection is the Video forum just for larger clips so people who can't or dont want to take time to reassemble larger files can skip over those posts that contain them. What do you think, TT?

That would defeat the purpose of the file limitation I have set on this board to keep the bandwidth in check. Even if you take a 10mb file, and split it into 2 (5mb) parts over 2 posts that's still posting a 10mb file. I've just looked the other way, but creating a forum that deals just with that would be inviting it altogether...

Already using 30-40Gb of bandwidth per day* as it is...

I think that, if each member posting a big clip, tell clearly without doubt size of clip, then is decision of downloader if get it or not, very simple. I prefer big clips on small/tiny clips (more action to see), is choice of each one. In the post tips is explained clearly that is a must to put, clip size, f/f, m/f or whatever, and description necessary in each case where is apply-able (excuse me, my bad english).

When I tried to extract and view your 18 part post, WinRar could not determine the file type to be able to play the clips. I manually changed the file type but it would not open in any player on my pc and I have most of them. Hacha is limited to the type of files you post whereas WinRar seems to work on most file types except yours. I find the whole process very confusing. Since the Administrator said they consider your 18 file post to be just that, 18 separate files, I think you and others need to rethink this multiple file thing. Maybe you should draw the line at 3 zip files instead of 10 or 18. Just my opinion. This is a free site and if people keep posting huge files we may have to eventually start paying for the extra Bandwith needed for the large files.

Yes but if posting 18 files or just 3 to view that clip ( by the way that 18 files clip was great and rare so :happy🙂 the file size will it be the same or not ???

That is my point, the clip is way too big. And the Administrator has already made a statement in this thread addressing the issue.

Yeah I don't like this Hacha or rar programs either and if I see a clip that is big of course I would love to see them but I don't need to go through all the trouble with these programs. Besides it's a pain in the ass.

Seems like you failed to read the Administrators post:

What he is saying is that he has looked the other way and allowed you and others to post these large files which are bigger than the maximum file size he has set for the forum. If you post 18 files in 5mb increments the end result is a 90mb file.

He doesn't tell any kind of thing else just it. If him condirerate those post unsuitable to TT simplely him would delete them. Only you think opposite. I believe that your point is that you don't like large vid clips and answer is very simple, don't get them. I haven't clips from 90 MB, but if i would have some, surely i would post them, to those members that enjoy them. Those that don't like simplely won't get them.

I'm thinkin that maybe you guys should just agree to disagree... you both have a point. Yes, the admin did mention that large clips pass through this server, yes, it kinda sounded like he would prefer it to stop, and yes, if it got to be a problem, we would surely see an offical post from TT requesting that split clips need to stop, or restrictions placed on the forum itself.

It's possible two people to disagree and still both be right.

Hi Floyd,
I'm glad that you're actually giving this a go, but as for the 18 part file it was split by Hacha therefore Hacha is the ONLY program that will reassemble it. Using WinRAR to reassemble it is like trying to open a P.C. or Windows floppy in a Mac computer or to put a square peg in a triangular slot. It will never work however what may be confusing you is the fact that WinRAR will unzip files that were zipped using Winzip. Unzipping the files will not reassemble them so please give Hacha a second chance it's really easy after the first time.

I guess now is good as ever, first I'd like to thank TT for all the hard work and dedication that it takes to run a succesful website I love this site and can alway's count on lot's of posts, pic's and clip's. Second is for Floyd, I was getting very anoied with Hacha for a while, what ever I was doing didn't work and what ever anyone was telling me wasn't working either, I've finally have gotten it to work and the most simplist way to tell you is to; Create a new folder on your desktop to save the clips in, once that's done HIGH LITE all of the clips in the folder and right click an option should show up that say's Winzip then choose Extract to here, go through the easy steps that winzip provides. Once all your files are Extracted open Hacha and click Pegar or what ever the hell it is and don't forget to click the 1.48 mb option cause obviously the clip is larger. Your done and you have an awsome vid to watch Courtesy of the nice people here at TT. Third thank's for all the big clips (I really enjoy them hehehe) and thank's TT.

It work to you because you had patience. Anybody can to read directions posted inside of thread, these say clearly what you need to do. Include i told that if person doesn't understand how to use hacha or has any doubts only write a private message to me, i'll answer all questions. Several members did write to me, after i answered them and they did can to play clip. Mostly people don't read carefully.
