Laughing Disease (non-tk)

Just caught a promo for Fox Chicago News about a disease that causes non-stop laughter. Weird. It'll be on at 9 for those in the Chicago area, but if anyone knows anything about this it might be interesting.

I remember an episode of "Trapper John MD"... musta been circa '79 (??) where a woman had this condition. I probably only remember because one of the staff made a comment to the effect of it being "a ticklish situation" or something.

A disabling state of hypnosis or narcosis induced by witch doctors and characterised by involuntary laughing, the compulsive mirthless laughter of schizophrenics.

Mondo Video

Besides videos relating to everyones favorite subject, I collect a plethora of other strange stuff. I have alotta tapes with purportedly real footage in the same vein as the teevee show Real TV and such. One of the mondo videos has a short segment about an African village with an outbreak of the disease. Can't remember which videotape it is, though...🙁
