Okay, it's been awhile since I've posted, so hello friends and new-to-me folks. Now, then, I watch L&O last night, and was totally baffled by the ending. Now, I wasn't surprised that Serena (Elisabeth Rohm) was fired, she does tend to empathize with the defendants overly and was too touchy about having her opinions challenged. But what really threw me was that when told she was fired, she asked, "Is this because I'm a lesbian?" The Chief D. A. was as stunned and confused as I was when he replied something like, "No, not at all, Serena. No." She coolly states "Good... good." And fades to black.
Now, I know you have to try and shake up the audience now and again, but this was SO out of left field, I'm still shocked. There was not any hint given of her character's orientation, that I know of, and it seemed so... staged, stilted, and forced. I just don't get it's purpose. <sigh> Anyhow, I'm still alive and thanks for reading!
