Learned fun fact about rats

I went to the Philadelphia Zoo yesterday with my boyfriend and they had a new addition called KidZooU which is mostly a petting zoo with farm animals. We went into a building where we saw they had rats and they had adjectives to describe them. One of the words was that they were ticklish. I am surprised that they were ticklish & that they figured this out. Just thought i'd share this on here.

Rat's actually in term of biology share some familiar traits as humans. It's gastrointestinal tract is pretty much identical to ours but in a smaller scale. Why do you think most testing is done on rats? Doesn't surprise me that they're ticklish too.

That's a genuine surprise! I always assumed rats were little more than sharp-toothed, sewer-dwelling, disease-carrying monsters. But now they're all of those PLUS ticklish! 😛
