If a married man (or woman at that matter) is going to cheat, nothing will stop them from reaching their objective. Maybe we need a meeting of the minds and healing at home as opposed to the prostitution issue. Besides, everyone who cheats doesn't use the services of prostitutes. If it weren't for the disease factor, I'd rather them do that than develop dead-end relationships with others that would cause much more harm and pain in the long run. Basically, if a person uses the services of a prostitute, then the process is simple-you pay, they play. If they get themselves involved in relationships with other people outside the marriage, it's nasty and messy-someone always gets hurt (believe me, I know!).
I believe in fidelity in marriage. I believe that both parties should live by the vows they took in front of God and witnesses. I'm also a realist who knows that people don't take these vows seriously and marry for convenience. I don't want a disease or any "drama" out of it either. Because of this, I live alone-but people aren't willing to do what I do. Legalizing prostitution is strictly a business decision from my standpoint. It makes sense.
As far as the religious aspect is concerned. I believe God is the Supreme Being of my universe. I do NOT believe in organized religion anymore although I agree with much of the bible. There are things in the bible I don't agree with. I don't think because I don't agree with every aspect of the bible doesn't mean that it isn't good. That's like throwing the baby out with the bathwater! God gives us common sense along with the other senses and we should use it to rightly divide the word of truth from the crap out there.
I won't sit in an environment Sunday after Sunday being told how horrible a person I am! I won't sit in an environment that treats women like something two steps over cattle! I don't love God any less-to be exact, I love Him more because I can come to him myself for what I need. I don't need the environment that I've never fit into in the first place. I spent years trying to be what my church said I should, but never really measured up. I initially blamed it on God, but realized that He had nothing to do with it. It was the people running things in the church. It was the cliques and the "special" people that ran things-it has nothing to do with God at all!
That's my opinion on the matter.
