As a 3D animator, I'd have to say that any series of pictures put together to simulate movement becomes a clip. Otherwise, I'd have to defend my own work as "thousands of rendered Poser shots that appear to move," and basically, that's all any video clips are - a series of individual frames that, when shown in fast succession, simulate movement. This clip is just happens to be 4 frames long.
