So what are the lessons of Pleasantville?

That once one starts questioning what is around them they start developing color and effect change?

Or that the most pleasant societies are often the most intolerant to a different viewpoint, unquestioning/unthinking, and tend to be underlying in Totalitarianism?

I tend to think the TMF is the later.

Tron
And which is

OH god. If the TMF was really a Totalitarian society don't you think posts like this would be removed, and you would be banned from the forum. In fact how many times have I seen posts criticizing the TMF. You see them all the time. And these same people continue posting, staying, annoying. Some Totalitarian society this is? I guess facism is not what it used to be.

The most pleasant society has yet to fully take shape.🙂

I actually wrote a paper on Pleasantville. As soon as I find it, I'm going to post it. Feedback is always welcome.

Heh heh heh...

That one had me on the floor. 😀

Why is it that the people who complain most about the perceived lack of an open exchange of opinions and ideas are the ones who, if given a chance, would deny it to others, or resort to bullying tones when frustrated in doing so?
A good question...a valid one.

good question Knox.

chill out and try to enjoy what life has to offer, Tron.

about tron

i think i'd like to spend a day with tron. not just lunch, cause that wouldn't be enough time, to really get into his head, and figure him out.

i'd like to spend a day with him, say at a picnic, the atmosphere is great for letting your hair down, and speaking your mind. see, i have a feeling there are many levels to tron. he's a very inteligent guy, and has some knowledge, and insite.

I don't think there was a lesson in it, I just think that it was a retelling of the civil rights struggles of the 1950s & 60s specifically and, in general, an examination of what happens when societies encounter uncomfortable new changes, especially when Spider Man and Barney Fife are involved.
