the beatles "Let it be" albun has been re-released without all the accompanying strings and synthesizers. its like an "unplugged" version, as originally intended by the group.
Finally! I know McCartney's been bitching for thirty years about how Phil Spector ruined that album...and then he remakes "The Long And Winding Road" with accompanying strings. I guess the message is that only Paul McCartney's allowed to ruin his own music.
I imagine that it all sounds pretty good, though...must be better than all those old bootlegs.

Ahh The Beatles, what is their left to say about them? As they were the most inventive pop group of all time and the massive innovations that sparked the music world remain to this day. As for the naked *Let It Be* well it may sound better but I feel history should be left alone. If one wants to hear The Beatles at thier best might I suggest the Revolver album. Lennons "Dr Robert" "And Your Bird Can Sing" and "She Said" were masterpieces of pop rock songcraft with the jangly guitars and Beatle vocal harmonies. And Mcartney and Harrison to had brilliant moments. Starrs drums never sounded more musical. The Beatles were first and foremost songwriters, and their work stands up very well today.
