LAKERS VS. MAVERICKS

WESTERN CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS

Going into this series, I say the Mavericks show no fear, dont back down, call out the Lakers and show them that yes they can be beat!

Everyone picked against the Mavericks in round one, use the same motivation and everyone saying that this is easy picking for the Lakers as fuel to win.

Either way, its going to be fun watching two of the best do what they do!

Ain't this some shit. Right now, the Dallas Mavericks are completely outplaying the Lakers. They have more fire, more aggressiveness and showing more heart. The Lakers took this team lightly and now they are paying a huge price.

I still believe, but fuck. They have not gotten out of this "funk" since Denver beat us and ended the winning streak. Damn, now I might have to hear all the Laker haters woof all damn day and night if the Lakers are eliminated...

This coming from the same guy who recently labeled every single fan (men, women and children) of the Dodgers classless because a few thugs attacked a fan... Seriously. Do you REALLY want to go there? I ALWAYS look at things objectively. In the words of Jack Nicholson, it's just that "You can't handle the truth."

Fact. Media pundits AND THE LAKERS THEMSELVES have said they don't play hard and take teams lightly. I don't throw nonsense out there in my arguments. People may think I do, but if they ever decide to follow what I am saying, they will discover my arguments are based on logic. But then again, dealing with you initially many years ago taught me all I need to know about you and your "sports knowledge"...

Do I think the Lakers are a better team than the Mavericks? Hell yeah! They are the 2 time defending champs. Until they lose, they are still the champs. But, are the Mavericks playing harder than them and just flat out are outplaying them? Hell Yeah! Which would explain why the Mavs are up 2-0.

Notice Lonestar replied with all the laughter and jokes. Am I offended? No. Does it bother me in the least? No. Why? He's supporting his team. The problem I have with folks is that they throw out useless arguments that they truly can't back up whenever I counter them. I wish we could all get in front of a national TV audience with our debates and we will see what people think who is full of it and who knows what they're talking about.

Lakers need to win game 3. They win game 3, the pressure shifts to Dallas to win game 4. Why? If Dallas loses games 3 and 4, they just gave the 2 time defending champions new life. Dallas has to earn a split at the very worst. Otherwise, the Lakers will be back in this series and will eventually overtake them.

Yeah, Deion Sanders belongs in the top 20. He is the greatest COVER corner in the history of the game. EVER. Plus, he can hurt you on punt/kickoff returns and can actually play receiver too. Name another DB that can completely shut down a receiver, return punts for TDs and score on offense? People say, "he can't tackle". But it wasn't like he avoided a tackkle, he was just never in a hurry to get there.. lol

Back to the Lakers. I stand by every word. They play lazy. This isn't new. The media talks about this all the time. But when I say it, it is "excuses!". No, it is fact. They don't always play hard. You can see it so far in this series. Dallas is playing very hard. The Lakers are playing "eh", which pisses off us Laker fans. The players even admit that they don't play hard. But I keep hearing, "excuses Primetime, excuses!". Where else am I getting my info?

Even Rod Woodson and every Hall of Famer will agree with. Rod Woodson, as great as he is, did not strike fear in opposing QBs as great as Sanders. The fact that he even played on offense is striking. You damn well know what kind of threat he was on special teams.

On the top 100 players of all time, he was #34, the #2 DB behind Night Train Lane. He should have been higher. No other corner in the history of the league had his cover skills.

As for the Lakers. My critique is spot on. Why do people continue to deny what I am saying when all my points are NATIONAL NEWS viewpoints? You act like I am coming up with this stuff out of nowhere. Do you watch NBA on TNT? Do you watch ESPN? Read websites, newspapers, etc? What do THEY say about the Lakers? Typically, they say "they play like they can just turn on the switch at anytime..." which means they play lazy. It is getting sad whenever you say my arguments make no sense, when I have the NATIONAL MEDIA confirming my points. And you say I'm living in La-La Land...... Guess what? Should Dallas put away the Lakers, they will talk about how hard Dallas played, but I GUARANTEE you they will talk about how bad the Lakers played and how uninspired they played all season. One of these guys was on ESPN last year and he was so proud to say he made the playoffs in 3 of his 10 leagues . R U FUCKING KIDDING ME????? I made the playoffs in four of my five leagues and only won 1 championship . And thats a bad year for me .

The national media last year had the Phillies overwhemingly winning the world series last year . Guess what ?? It was the Rangers & Giants last year

Actually, I have given the Mavs credit. They are playing with more heart, more determination, and are flat out beating the Lakers. However, do I consider the Mavericks the "better" team? In a sense, no. Now before everyone goes off on me on how the "better team wins playoff series!", remember I used the phrase "in a sense."

The Lakers on paper are a better team. Bynum is better than Chandler. Gasol is better than Dirk on DEFENSE (on offense, Dirk is a pure stud). Shawn Marion is better offensively than Artest, but definitely not defensively. Kobe Bryant is better than ANY Mavericks player (I dare you to disagree...). Kidd is a better PG than Fisher though. Phil Jackson is better than Rick Carlisle. Hell, Jerry Buss is a better owner than Mark Cuban (see # of championships...).

But that is on paper. Right now, the Mavericks are playing much much better than the Lakers. Anyone who knows anything about basketball can see that. BUT, can I honestly say the Lakers are giving 100% effort? Hell no. Pau Gasol still hasn't shown up for the 2011 playoffs. Kobe is way off the mark and still nursing injuries. Steve Blake is Steve Blake. Matt Barnes is surprisingly giving us nothing. Fisher is Fisher. Everyone knows a focused Laker team is nearly unbeatable.

The Mavs have a 3 game lead and they SHOULD finish off the Lakers. But, you know, it wouldn't surprise me if the Lakers did win 4 in a row.....

Flock, believe me, my opinions ARE my opinions. No one thought of it for me. Based on my own observations and thoughts, I make my own arguments. I am using the national media as an extra source to counter people saying I am making excuses. So here I am, blasting away letting everyone know the Lakers are not playing hard. (If you follow them like I do, you can tell they don't always give 100% effort. Then, they even admit it themselves).

Since you never seem to believe a word I say, it is hilarious that the national media seems to agree with me. ALL Laker fans have been saying the Lakers don't give 100% effort. Then you have the national media saying the same thing. I am using them to REINFORCE my argument. Something you guys never seem to do. You say I am making "excuses". Oh really? Then why do the "talking heads" seem to have the same opinion?

I honestly hope the Mavs finish off the Lakers. Why? So I can continue to debate you silly people.
