amazing stamina, character, sportsmanship. And good tennis too, considering the fatigue factor. Some great shots.
I joined the game and saw the score - 2:2 AND 40:40... and I thought to myself: have they just started the game or what? then I realized it's 2:2 in SETS, and 40:40 in GAMES...
Once I tuned in, I stayed throughout. I actually missed the Germany - Ghana world cup game for that. Seeing games like this makes you say - thank God I'm a sports fan.
I visited Wimbledon 15 years ago. At this early stage of the tournament you can arrive at the compound in the afternoon, and buy a ticket for 5 or 6 pounds that gives you a free pass to watch any game you want in the minor courts. This game was played on court number 18. I kept thinking about those folks who got to watch perhaps one of the greatest sporting events ever, with their own eyes, for 6 pounds. Is there a sweeter deal than that?
I've been watching it. I went out to rehearse tonight and came back to find out that they suspended play at 59-59. I'm a tennis fan, and this is probably the most ridiculous moments in tennis... no... in sports I have ever seen. These two look completely spent (Isner looked liked he using his racket as a makeshift crutch), yet they have the temerity to serve bombs constantly. The heart, the will, the stamina... it's unbelieveable.
John Isner is considered a top-10 player in the making, while Nicolas Mahut is a former junior Wimbledon champion. This match is a one-off in tennis which we'll never see the likes of again, and will define both their careers (or perhaps shorten them) for the rest of their lives.
I have checked out this website and I would like to show this site to my friends to check them out as well. Thanks and I’ll keep an eye of this comments.
