a lot of things have changed in the world of sports in this decade here are some i could think of from when the decade started

The Patriots had never won a superbowl coming into it

Bill Bellicheck was a bust coach in Cleveland

The Raiders were one of the elite teams in the nfl

Tom Brady was an unknown

The Texans didnt exist

The Red Sox were a cursed team who couldnt win a world series

The Yankees payroll was only 60 million

Was thought no mid major could ever make the final four

You had never heard of HGH

Hank Aaron was still the home run king

Alex Rodriguiez was still a ss and played for the rangers

Randy Moss was still a Viking

Dan Marino still owned the single season pass td record

The Ravens were only a few years old

The washington nationals didnt exist

the oklahoma city thunder didnt exist

Lebron James wasnt in the NBA

Shaq and Kobe still played together in LA

Bob Knight was still coaching at Indiana

Joe Paterno and Bobby Bowden were washed up and on their way out

MMA was unheard of

Jereome Bettis/Marshall Faulk/Emmit Smith still played in the NFL

Walter Payton still had the rushing record
