Looking for a good [free] art program

Hi All! I've been on Download.com for two days looking for a good art program [or image editor] that will let me take a pic thats already colored and make it black and white, and I mean coloring book black and white, but all I can find is that greyscell stuff.

I've recently started DL'ing Coloring pages [or just B&W pics] and coloring them in my paint program, just to kill time.

Do any of you know a program that will make a colored pic coloring book B&W?
