Losing Credentials

What happens to when a system loses it accreditation?

Anybody know?

And if you knew that a system was about to lose it, and you still haven't signed your contract to work there... would you do it, or would you bust your butt to try to go somewhere else?

Regionally speaking...

Here in Long Island this has happened twice, most recently to Roosevelt school district. Both times the state has appointed a Board to run the district and allotted a budget that has actually been an improvement over the previous ones. I didn't read about layoffs or any vast amount of turnover, so I assume they renewed the teachers contracts in some fashion. Pretty strong teachers union in this region, so I doubt they let them get screwed.
