Go to a thrift shop and buy a used pair of men's work boots, size 12 or larger. Get copies of a few gun magazines. Put the boots, the magazines, and a few empty beer cans on your front porch. Put a note on your front door:

Big Jim and I have gone to the gun store to buy more ammo. Be back in half an hour. Wait for us out here on the porch, the pit bulls are acting strangely today, they already tore apart the letter carrier and I had to lock them in the house.
