It's been out for just a bit now so I wanted to get other players opinions of the game (xbox 360 version).
I think it's a good step up from the 08 and especially the 07. Then again, 07 was the first version of madden on the 360 so it was all about the graphics. Now that we've seen what it can look like, they've decided to get more into actual game play.
I've heard criticisms so I will offer my opinion. The announcers really do not bother me. I did turn off the 'assist' for bad plays and 'rewind' feature which allows you to do a play over. That had to be one of the most boneheaded ideas for madden. Who wants to do a play over? At least they left it an option you could turn OFF.
The graphics, at least for the 360, are awesome. There are some slight AI problems (passes over the middle are near impossible to stop) and some plays work far too easily (qb sneak for one). But overall I am not disappointed with madden 09. There is plenty room for more next season and even 2011, but 09 offers hours of fun. And another add this year for the 360 is the cpu can play itself and you can watch. This was not an option in 08 or 07. I've always enjoyed watching the cpu play a matchup while you could watch.
Also for those picky, there's a downloadable cover of Favre wearing a Jets uniform on the ea website. However, the game will still display him wearing a Packers uniform at the game's start up.
