Mainstream tickling reference on adult swim last night

Soooo this show might not be very well known or liked by TMF members, I would guess Christian ones especially wouldn't want to watch it and the humor often goes waaay beyond tasteful 😀 But on Moral Orel last night there was a pretty direct reference to tickling fetishes! Orel, having been taught by his preacher that all forms of pleasure are sinful, is advised to offset any pleasureful moments by hurting himself. He obeys a little too well, beating himself up until he catches the attention of another masochist, who invites him to a club called the 'Glory Hallelujah Hole'... the club consists of "sinners" being "punished" and obviously enjoying it a little too much...they show three guys and someone says 'Throw these christians to the lions!', they put the guys in an arena with three chicks dressed in dominatrix-style catsuits, holding feathers, and they tickle the guys until one of them yells "red". Orel asks why he yelled red, and the concept of the safeword is explained 😉
Is 'Red' a common safeword among BDSM players? I know I've heard it on this site before! :O

Yes, RED is a common safeword among BDSM players. It is probably the principle safeword among BDSM players, and has been since shortly after folks began to get together and talk about this stuff in NYC at The Eulenspiegel Society in 1971.

thanks for the info Spenser...I'm not really into the BDSM scene, I find it all amusing and can see the appeal, but it's not really for me... I thought that might be the case with the word 'red', though this site was the only place I'd heard it before in that type of scenario. I think the short bit of tickling in the episode was interesting though because they placed tickling in the context of a bdsm/fetish enviornment, kind of a rarity for a mainstream scene I think...

lol, Illtcklu, there's been tickling on family guy a few times before, but not really in a fetish context... the one I remember was when Peter was tickling Lois and after telling him to stop a few times, she smacks him in the face with a frying pan 😀

milagros, the episode of Moral Orel was called "Pleasure" whenever they get it up there.. if you've never seen an episode of this show, I'd say you're in for a treat, or a trauma, lol 😀 I like the show but the humor is so dark and depressing that sometimes it just seems awful rather than funny 😉 ... last night before they even got to the whole bdsm/tickling scene, Orel meets the masochist guy and gets a business card with the name "glory hallelujah hole" on it, and I remember right then I turned to my boyfriend and said "this is about to get really, really bad" 😉 lol

But then again, I'm of the opinion that Morel Orel is genuis and one of Adult Swim's better shows.
