I do this over at TMF and some people seem to like it, so I thought I'd try it here. Unfortunately, TMF allows embedding of youtube videos, which makes things a bit easier, but I've posted the links to the videos instead.
Seems good music is hard to find these days, so in hopes of bringing to light some more underground artists (and maybe some new stuff from the more popular ones) I've decided to make, what will hopefully become a regular thread in which I post some of the stuff I think most of you would like.
First off. You should all go listen to some Adele. She's Soul/Acoustic/Pop whose biggest influences are Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, etc, which really comes across in the way she sings. Here's "Chasing Pavement"

Secondly, there's Robyn. Some may remember she had a few hits in the 90s like "Let Me Love You Down" or "Show Me Love." She was a bit too pop for me. But now she's been doing this funky, dance, hip hop sorta stuff and it's really interesting. Don't expect any mind-blowing lyrical abilities here, but the music is fun at the very least. Try "Konichiwa Bitches" or "Handle Me"

3rd is Justice, a French electronic music duo that released their debut album last year which featured the hit "D.A.N.C.E." that was recorded with one of England's best children's choirs. Unfortunately, for me, the children's choir seems to make this song what it is. So the rest of the album is mediocre at best.

4th, is Stefanie Heinzmann. She's only like 18, but she's got one of those voices that belongs to some old jazz singer. She's a lot like Joss Stone, Norah Jones, and a hint of Janis Joplin with influences of jazz, soul, and funk. Here's "My Man Is A Mean Man" (also try "Like A Bullet).
