Considering the Botox Doctor's "Frantic Schedule" , The Doctor advised Ross that The Doctor had to push Ross's shot back a day, to four days away.
At that point, Ross was furious. He knew that the VP would be furious, but, Ross started to pack a bag, to go to his "Favorite Escape Place, " OKC.
It was evening, right after dinner. Kayley came into the bedroom, looked at the case, and said, almost in disbelief. "Ah, where may I ask are you going?"
"With the shot being pushed back, and what happened with the card, and all the bullshit with the bank, I have to get the fuck out of here. I'm going to take a nurse, go to OKC, and do whatever. The shot is four days from tomorrow, I will be back in the latest, three days" Ross responded.
Kayley felt ready to "blow her stack", but she decided to take the calm road.
"R, why would you go down there to sort through companies, do shows, and work your ass off? Please just go into the office, and stay on track" Kayley appealed.
"On track for everyone else, but not for me. I'm sorry if you dont understand. I'm not saying or doing this to defy you, or start a fight. You know that I've been almost exact with not doing anything much at RossShell, not running away too much, and watching my health. Kale, this was the last straw. Between the Bullshot that Jim is pulling, how mundane the office is, and now this, this was the straw that broke the camel's back. You know that I will have a nurse with me, and that I wont be reckless. Please just dont make it worse" Ross appealed, calmly.
Kayley went over to Ross, caressed his face, and said. "Okay, I will stay calm, and I wont make it worse. As long as you feel okay, go, have a productive trip, and just be careful" Kayley said.
Ross kissed Kayley. "Thank You"
The next morning, Ross got on an 8 am flight to OKC that arrived at noon.
Ross went to the office, accompanied by the nurse, and dropped his bag.
"Hiya, partner, ready for a show?"! Steve said, shaking Ross's hand.
"Now?" Ross said, almost stunned.
"Let;s all get into the SUV. I set it up this morning. One hundred souls will be meeting us at the site. Less than two hours max. Then, upon getting back to the office, we have a nice conference call with some kind gents about buying either a company or some product in Texas" Steve said.
"Keeping the Apple Boy busy" Ross said.
"You know it" Steve said.
The men and the nurse rode out to the field, met with 150 people, where everyone sat in chairs, as the field foreman lectured about the property.
In the end, thirty people signed, not bad, but not great.
After that, it was a ride back to RFS office, for a conference call with people from Texas. They owned an energy company of mainly gas, but also some oil. The plan was to "observe" the company for ninety days, and then, buy it off twenty five percent at a time every ninety days thereafter, for "up to" 100 mil , negotiable.
After the call, Fritz, Steve, and Ross talked.
"Sounds feasible. Low Risk, a bit at a time. Geologicals look good. Let's say we have one sweep with our boys, and if they say yes, we put the first payment in" Steve said.
Dinner for the three men and the nurse was at a steakhouse.
After which, Ross went back to the hotel, and into his suite, with the nurse in the next room, and the door ajar, should Ross need any help.
Ross dialed Kayley.
"Are you okay, R? I'm concerned."
"I'm okay. Just tired. We had a show, a conference call about a company. As long as I dont get sick,. I will stay tonight and tomorrow, and be home two nights from now, in the evening, not too late, okay?" Ross said.
"Reluctantly, yes" Kayley said.
After Ross had an "okay" night's sleep, he awakened about 7 the next day, for a 9 am meeting with people at the office, who had wells in both OKC and Texas. After that, it would be out to the field for a brief show with between 100 and 200 people.
Ross felt immediately sour at the meeting, when the men they were meeting with said. "We know someone in Canada"
Ross looked at Steve, who texted Ross "Dont say anything. We can always tell them we are passing on Canada, let's hear them out, and we can always say no to one part, yes to another, or pass on the whole deal" Steve texted.
The men bid one another goodbye, and then Ross, Fritz, Steve and the nurse, went to the field, for a nice 250 person show.
Steve and the foreman did a long lecture, at which time 100 people committed to sign.
At that point it was only four pm.
Steve whispered to Ross./ "We are driving you back to your hotel. Get The Hell out of here. You got through two days just before your shot with no problems, please do not push your luck, and I say that as a friend" Steve said, with "Strong appeal"
Ross nodded. He was driven back to the hotel, picked up his bags, made a flight, and got on a seven pm flight to JFK, which with changeover, landed at 1230.
The nurse accompanied Ross home, and slept in the guest room to make sure.
Ross quietly made his way into the bedroom.
Kayley turned over, and said. "You know I'm not sleeping. How are you, R?"
"Tired, but I'm okay. We had a decent trip. I'm just going to get undressed, and will work home tomorrow, or sleep. I dont know yet" Ross said.
Ross had a restless sleep.
Kayley got up, and left for work.
Ross, after his breakfast, and meds, went into his home office, and was stunned to find a "pile of angry e-mails"
