PUYALLUP, Wash. - A warning is going out to hair and nail salons across Western Washington after one man's unusual request. That man has gone to salons in several cities asking to photograph women's feet.

At one salon in Puyallup, the man said he was a student of Seattle Reflexology and wanted to do a school project, and needed 18 feet for lithographs.

What the salon did not know is that the man is not a student, just a man with an apparent fetish who's been on the lookout for feet in Puyallup, Sumner, Bonney Lake, Federal Way, Olympia, Poulsbo, Port Townsend, and Kirkland.

"He would have people wiggle their toes, and have them show different angles in the light," said Lisa Hensell who runs Seattle Reflexology and Massage Center.

She said she started getting calls about the man last January, and she is now warning salons and licensed massage therapists about him.

Police say it's not a crime.

"Police say he hasn't done anything criminally wrong, but it could lead to something else," said Jayne Drahos, salon owner.

When the man came back to the Puyallup salon a couple of days later to take pictures, the owners had already called police. But because he didn't commit a crime, they couldn't arrest him.

But is it greedy to want someting more artistic? It sounds like he himself is more interested in the artistic aspect of it. However, it is really...dense...manipulative and unusual to go and find the feet in a salon.

I agree with you, Papi.

While the man hasn't done any real harm by taking pics of her feet, it's still without the woman's knowledge. Although that may not be considered a crime, it's still an act of deception on someone who may (or may not) have minded that he was doing it to satisfy his fetish fixation. I guess, in a way, many of us here at TT do that all the time by watching stuff from YouTube and photos on Flickr or someplace similar, but to be actively engaging with the person while doing the action is something else, entirely.

Then again, it didn't do much harm, so I dunno. *shrugs* I just don't think he should've made up a story and a fake identity just to get some pictures, is all.

What this guy did is idiotic. It may not be technically criminal, but it's rude and selfish and will scare people. This kind of behavior also gives the many perfectly normal people who like feet a bad name.

Not that us foot guys are exactly normal in the eyes of the world, but...

I'm not sure on this. I have to give the guy credit for being... (crafty?) and staying within the boundaries of the law, but how far your is too far? Is getting a few live pictures worth having your name branded as a pervert?
