Manga Find - Magister Negi Magi (*/f)

Here's a cute tickle from the Ken Akamatsu (Love Hina) manga "Magister Negi Magi", which was just release in the US by Del Rey. It's a really fun story... think "Harry Potter" done as a romantic comedy.

The girl being tickled is Asuna, the female lead of the story. This is a different scene than the ones Battousai posted images from (those are from a later issue... can't wait until those are published). Enjoy!

Nice find! ^^x I must say, I think Ken Akamatsu might have a tickling fetish too. His female characters seem to get tickled A LOT, at least in his manga.

There are a lot of manga tickling scenes in Love Hina, too. I don't have any availible right now, but I could try looking for them.

I have the manga, Love Hina that is. And as I recall, there aren't that many tickling scenes as you would suggest. I do remember some of them. If anyone can give me a volume and page number as to where these scenes are I could upload them rather quickly, all of them. And no, the one with Kanako in it and the laughing gas and mechanical arms doesn't count. We've already seen that one too many times.

indeed i saw all of the love hina and love hina again, spring special as the winter special and the only kind of slight tickling was episode 18 when SU was washing a girl's back and he said that it tickled :]

While we were talking about the manga, its good you bring up the anime too. Yes, there really aren't any tickling scenes. And even the one you mentioned isn't really tickling. Its just that the scrubbing tickled Emi. Koalla wasn't really tickling her. Another scene people like to exagerate and pass as tickling is when Kanako is rubbing Kitsune's breasts. While Kitsune did laugh, it was tied into the feeling and sensation, rather than Kanako actually tickling her. Same as with Emi and pretty much any other situation.

I can count on one hand the number of actual tickling scenes in the anime AND the manga. I have both the anime and the manga, and I'm a big fan, so I'd like to believe I know what I'm talking about. Not that anyone's saying I don't or is calling me a liar. I just don't know where "there are a lot of tickling scenes in Love Hina, too" is coming from. Its not true. Unless you consider a few "alot".

And I wouldn't want anyone looking forward to such a thing to get their hopes up for nothing.

I'd like to think and believe however that the other artists and I are the answer to the demand for more than the animes and mangas give us. And I inparticularly specialize in Love Hina, so requests for this series are always fun. Although I can't say I get that many tickling requests. But then again that audiance and those pieces of mine are outside this community and weren't designed or drawn with tickling in mind most of the time.

Anyways, this is a great find. Hopefully I can see if it's worth the purchase for myself. But then again, to say that would be heresy against Ken Akamatsu. All his work is great. ^__^

I can count on one hand the number of actual tickling scenes in the anime AND the manga. I have both the anime and the manga, and I'm a big fan, so I'd like to believe I know what I'm talking about. Actually, I do consider a few 'a lot'. ^^x; Since it's rare to find more than one tickling scene in a manga. I mean, the only other manga with as many tickling scenes is Dragonball/Dragonball Z. Yes, there aren't many -- but it's so rare to find them anyway, that I consider it a lot.

Another scene that no one's mentioned is from the Love Hina Spring Special, the manga version of it anyway (the anime version hardly followed it at all, especially at the end). There's a cute scene where Shinobu and Nyamo get tickled by worms/catapilla's. It's short, but I consider it a good find. ^^x

As well versed and meticulous as I am about it, I actually forgot about that one, even though the image is instantaniously strong in my mind.

To my knowledge, there are 3 or 4 (for certain 3) tickling scenes in the manga. In addition to the most well known one, and the one you just mentioned, theres one where Kitsune tickles Keitaro briefy.

As for the anime, I actually don't recall a single tickling scene. Although I'm not so proud or confident as to say that I could not be wrong about that. But I'm pretty sure I'm right. Something like tickling would stick out of the norm, and I'm basing this on the idea that tickling is actually tickling. Not poking, proding, rubbing, gropping, or anything of the sort. Tickling is almost totally different and is a more concious effort that would be clear and recognizable in either manga or anime form.

I think you're right about there being no tickling scenes in the anime. As a matter of fact, there's a lot missing from the anime that's in the manga. I don't really like the anime all that much... Compared to the manga it's very predictable and repetative -- at least in my opinion. ^^x;

Anyway, if someone can name a mangaka who's made more tickling scenes than Ken Akamatsu, I'll eat my hat.
