Not that I am an expert on mangoes but a friend told me who loves them that much like watermelon the flavor does not transfer well when made into candies, gums, jellies, or yes even marmalade. So though it could be done if my friend is right the taste would not be that good.

Isn't that the reason why artificial flavoring was invented?

I think when you have fruits with subtle flavors like watermelon and mango it is almost impossible to come up with an artificial flavor that recreates the same taste as the fruit.
