This wasnt a request, just one I personally just really wanted to do. Easily one of my all time favorite video games ever was the incredibly weird "Maniac Mansion". Although I grew up playing the 8-bit Nintendo version, it was originally created for the Commodore back in 87'.

The basic story goes that the main character Dave has his girlfriend Sandy kidnapped by an evil mad scientist and taken to the Maniac Mansion. You use Dave and two other friends of your choice from a group of six, each with different abilities. What this meant was that there were quite a few ways you could beat the game depending on what characters you took. Its set up as a point and click mouse based game where you direct the heroes throughout the house accomplishing strange tasks to find Sandy. A few of the more humorous tasks you can do include blowing up a hamster in the microwave and trading demo tapes with a talking green tentacle.

In this image I used the only two female characters you can pick from; Wendy the journalist and Razor the punk rocker. I could never tell if Wendy was supposed to be white or asian as she's gone through quite a few changes in the various versions of the game....

As for this setting; In the game theres a scene where you walk into the bathroom, pull back the shower curtain and find "Cousin Ted", an ancient mummy related to the crazy family living in the house. At some point in the game you're supposed to find the spigot to turn on the shower, causing him to fall and reveal Nurse Edna's phone number on the back wall......

So I guess in this one, Wendy and Razor were both captured by the Green and Purple tentacles and interrogated.....

(And if you want to try the game itself, an independent group of fans did an updated version of the game: http://rapidshare.de/files/23928676/Maniac_Mansion_Deluxe.zip.html)

superb pic, ive jus joined and its the best pic ive seen by far keep up the good work 😀

LOL awesoem work 😀 The tenticles remind me of that game "Day of the Tenticle". I may have played that game you were talking about a loooong time ago. I vaguely remember it. Used to love those old wacky adventure games.

Anybody ever remember the game "teen agent"? You actually get to tickle-interrogate in that game lol...

I tried downloading the file but rapidshare never works for me. Ah well. Awesome work as always Cheshire 🙂

Absolutely excellent pic from one of my all time favourite artists. 😀 All my base are belong to you.

Well your observation was correct. "Day Of The Tentacle" was originally entitled "Maniac Mansion 2" although it only features a total of 3 playable characters and only one of them is from the original game, Bernard the geek.

I found DOTT to be quite innovative, with the addition of time travel and having to search the house and perform different tasks that effect other time periods. (Like sticking a hamster in the freezer in the past so your friend in the future can find it and thaw it out)

LOL funny enough, I do enjoy adventure games but I never can finish them. It's almost as if I enjoy them so much that I don't really want the story to end...

DOTT (along with Escape from Monkey Island and Full Throttle) are some of my most fav adventure games ever... but I never finished any of them.

Now that I think about it, I actually played Maniac Mansion. I started playing it after DOTT, so I didn't see the connection. I found the story amusing, and again enjoyed just mucking about... but never finished the game lol

Someday (when I can get over Guild Wars, and Unreal Tournament and Painkiller and...) I'm gna just gather up all these adventure games and finish them off

I'll never forget the hamster in the original. It was always controversial among me and my friends :lol . Day of the Tentacle was amazing though. Anyway, great choice of content, and the pic is very nice too 😉 !

Nice work, as expected. I always loved the way you emphasize the toes in your characters.

you have to hand it to lucasarts: they put out some of the most innovative, interesting and just damned FUNNY adventure games in their heyday (that is, before they just started making everything starwars). my favourite is actually one of the less well considered games by my friends: Grim Fandango. sure it lacks the cartoony nature of maniac mansion and the Monkey Island Series, but the theme (travel agent in the land of the dead) and the 3d artwork had me reeling, and the humour was top notch. actually, thinking about Grim Fandango... there was a scene where mercedes colomar unrolls her stocking (revealing bone underneath) leaving manny calavera to sweat it out... a tickle scene based on that would be funny and freaky (just up your alley CC, if you dont mind me saying 🙂

anyway, the artwork is fantastic, as always. i love the expressions on those girls faces! keep 'em coming man!

OMG Grim Fandango. I remember playing the demo when it first came out; I bought it several years later. Another game I had a blast with, but just never got around to finishing...

Y'know what game I always thought was ripe for tickling (prolly had it, cuz again I never finished it)... Leisure Suit Larry lol 😛

i really like the pic, CC, hell i like all your works 🙂

i tried playing that game, but couldn't really hold my attention, played for 15 minutes and gave up.

depends on which lesiure suit larry game you mean. i think number 5 or 6 had a scene where larry is in the pool talking to a girl in a flotation device, and if you click on her chest she sez "hey, stop that, it tickles!' that's pretty much the only tickling i remember. oh, and guess what? leisure suit larry 8 isnt available here down under! stupid government...

LOL I had no idea there were more than one 😛 gosh I must be out of touch lol

Wow! Talk about obscure nastalgia!
sweet pick too.

I hate that game a bit, it's because the loose brick cheat is a dud, but this pic makes the angry go away. I'm guessing that the purple is tickling Razor because she got the record deal.
