Manny Pacquiao: Drug cheat?

I keep hearing about this big fight tonight in the "Jones Majal" (Cowboys Stadium) and a recent event just sticks in my head. Manny Pacquiao takes on some goober named Joshua Clottey. Does anyone really care about this fight? This fight should have been Pacquiao vs Mayweather. That's the fight everyone wants to see. But, that MEGA FIGHT was called off....

Why?

According to the media, and some blind fans, everyone says Mayweather is a coward and this is all his fault the fight didn't happen. They say he is afraid of Pacquiao and some for some reason people and the media agree. But what was the reason for the stoppage? All Mayweather wanted from Pacquiao was...

MONEY?

Nope....

His wife?

Nope...

His car?

Nope.....

Mayweather wanted Pacquiao to take.....

*Gasp* a DRUG TEST.

Oh my goodness! What a coward Mayweather is!!! I mean, all he wants to have Pacquiao do is prove he's a clean fighter! A drug test? That's it? Mayweather would also take the test. Are you kidding me? Mayweather is a coward and looking for a way out of a fight by asking for a DRUG TEST? Give me a break!!

How come no one is picking up on this? With all the drug scandals in baseball, track & field, the Olympics, AND BOXING, someone asking for a drug test should be applauded. But Manny Pacquiao and Bob Arum does not want to do a drug test within 30 days of the fight. WHY? "He doesn't like needles." WTF??!!!

If you stop and think about it, if Pacquiao is clean, why not take the test. He should be proud to take it. If Mayweather is bluffing and really wants to get out of the fight, then by Manny taking the test, Mayweather is out of excuses. BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOO, Manny and his camp threw this big stink and cancelled the fight.

Means only one thing.....

Manny Pacquiao is a drug cheat. He's obviously taking something that leaves his body after 30 days, which is why he doesn't want to take a test within 30 days of the fight. He's a sham.

Most major combat sports, boxing promotions in the US included, have mandatory drug testing after each card for all fighters involved. If Pacquiao had been taking performance enhancers any time two weeks before any of his fights, they would have shown up in those tests after previous fights. I think both fighters are being unreasonable; Mayweather for asking for the test and Pacquiao for refusing. Though, in this debate, I would lean towards the argument that Mayweather is stalling on the fight.

To answer your other question, no. Beyond a fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather, I really don't care about boxing. 😀

Why should Pacquiao take a drug-test that Mayweather is ordering? I wouldn't have done it either.

That's what I don't get. Why would a pro athlete refuse a drug test. Pacquiao is a cheat. There is no rational reason why he should refuse the test. If he takes it and pass, then Mayweather is out of excuses. I think Mayweather would kick his ass anyway. Pacquiao must be doing something to not agree to a drug test and cancel the biggest fight boxing can have in this day and age. Who is the real coward?

Boxing is mental just as much if not more than physical. Ali would have opponents beaten before they stepped between the ropes just by getting in their head before a fight. Same way with Mike Tyson in his prime. Even Sugar Ray Leonard made demands for the Hagler fight demanding certain glove sizes, ring size, etc. It's all a mind game. Demanding a drug test is Mayweather's way of trying to gain early control of things.

Drug test samples and results can be contaminated. Besides, why should Pacqui take one? Did Clottey demand a drug test? Did Cotto and Hatten? Or even De La Hoya? Has Mayweather demanded the same drug test of any of his other opponents? And why not? Because it's all a mind game.

I don't think Mayweather is afraid of Pacqui. But he knows if anyone is going to beat him, Pacqui is more than likely that man. Any advantage Mayweather can gain in controlling things puts him a step ahead.

But that's the thing, if it is all a mind game, then Pacquiao should take the test. Then what excuse would Mayweather have? I think mayweather knows something about Pacquiao, which is why he wants Olympic style drug testing. Think about it. There are doping scandals in sports. Why would ANYONE not want to know if a person is cheating or not? Why are people saying, "I wouldn't take the test either." Why not? It's a drug test, not "remove your spleen before the big fight."

Where there's smoke, there's fire. Pacquiao might be hiding something....

While I agree with prime, that Pac should probably just take the drug test to appease Mayweather for a big bought, submitting to a drug test to prove you're clean would be kinda like guilty before being proven innocent.

Let's also assume that Pac does have something in his system. It doesn't necessarily make it a performance enhancer. I imagine that being a public figure put a lot of pressure on a guy regardless of what it's for. What if he tokes or something?

If whatever Pacquiao is allegedly taking results in no more than a decision over a 'goober' like Clottey, then Mayweather should keep his mouth shut and take home an easy paycheck.

This just in....

Mayweather and Mosley will both undergo the rigorous drug testing before their bout. Hmmmmmmm... Mosley doesn't have a problem with the drug testing before his big matchup with Mayweather. You don't see Mosley crying and whining about the test, and thinks Mayweather is trying to get into his head.

Makes you wonder why Pacquiao is making such a big deal out of taking an Olympic style drug testing period. Maybe he's doing something he shouldn't....
