Anyone catch the Vikings/Falcons debacle?
I really have some hope for my beloved team this year. Yeah, it's only the first game, of course, but it looks like we have some freakin' defense this year. Last year, I saw the defense getting better, and was hoping it would carry over.
I love this new RB we've got. So new, I can't even remember his name! Anyhooo...the D loked sharp. And you know, I'm aware I'm gonna hear a ton about "Mike Vick wasn't playing"...and while I understand that may have been a small part of it, I don't count it as that much. Joey Harrington was never that bad, and Mike was never really a great passer to begin with, more of an athletic threat. Atlanta put the same defense on the field, the same O line, the same receivers and backfield. One guy isn't going to be the difference in that many points.
Time will tell, of course, but I've got some hope this year. Actually, the entire NFC North looks like it could be fun in '07. The Lions actually won their first game (in not too bad a fashion), the Packers looked really nice against Philly and Brett Favre looks like he's a lot better off than last year, and even though Chicago lost, they kept the Chargers in check until toward the end and pretty much handled LT.
Good luck Vikes!
