Mayweather vs. Marquez

I don't see a thread for this one, so I figured I'd start one. Who else is excited about the upcoming boxing match for Mayweather vs. Marquez? One of the greatest boxers of our time is coming out of retirement and I can't wait to see him fight again. Who thinks that Marquez might be the first to figure out how to beat "Pretty Boy" Mayweather? (I like that nickname a lot better than "Money") 🙂

I like Marquez a lot; he's a vicious bastard and awlays entertaining, but I reckon he's a bit too easy to hit. He's always cut to shreds by the end of his fights, and while he's nasty enough to make sure the usual opposition pay for every scratch they land Mayweather ain't "the usual opposition".

It'd be great if Marquez did win because Mayweather is a prick, but I personally can't see it.

I'm not a huge boxing fan but I do watch it from time to time and I am looking forward to seeing this fight.I'm hoping to see Mayweather get his racist face knocked off.

I don't know enough about Marquez to say whether or not he's the guy to beat Mayweather but I damn sure hope he is.

Not a lot of love for Mayweather here, huh? I admit he's a horse's arse and not the most aggressive boxer around, but his technical prowess is unmatched. The man is just too fast for human reflexes to counter: watching his flawless defense really is just amazing.

I have major respect for his boxing skills and his accomplishments but it's his attitude that gets me.This clip in particular pissed me off.Just talking out of his ass about mma and white guys.

I've never seen that clip before. I totally agree that his statements about MMA are off-base and pretty offensive to MMA fans, but I also admit that I laughed out loud when I heard that. Seriously, there's something about being this opinionated that's pretty funny.

You have to admire his straight fowardness,yes,but he talks about them like they lack any kind of skill whatsoever.Despite the fact that he is one of the best boxers in recent time,if he were to fight even a mid level guy in a real combat situation he most likely would get straight busted.

Sigh. This whole thread may be only academic for me: it looks like every bloody bar in my entire city is busy showing UFC that night. Not one boxing pub. It makes me warm (in a guilty way) to Mayweather's comments about MMA.

Mayflower will probably win. After the fight, he should just go to the WWE. He can do all that smack talking, work a crowd over and get tremendous heel heat. He'd be better as an "entertainer."

With that said,it's a shame he doesn't make an attempt at mma.I can't stand the guy personally,but I would love to see his level of stand up in the game.If he could actually become well rounded as opposed to one dimensional,it would be interesting to see.
