Medical restraint request...

Another one of my off the wall questions for any medical professionals on here... I know the legal issues regarding the use of medical restraints can be extensive, but my question is, can a patient request restraints to be used? For instance, I had a follow up appointment after an abdominal surgery where the surgeon opened up part of the incision due to slight infection which was incredibly painful but nessesary... I know an anesthetic would have been a more normal request, but would restraints be an option if anesthetics weren't available?

My guess is they could claim the anesthetic is not just for the patient but also for the medical staff. They would not be able to insist on giving you anesthesia if you do not agree to it but they could refuse to do what ever procedure you need if you do not agree to the anesthesia.

I used a poor example, although that did happen to me without numbing or anything. Maybe more like a non invasive procedure where the patient might have a hard time remaining still or their hands instinctivley interfere with the doctors work. Like "I know you need to do this doc, but i am ticklish and i may not be able to control myself. I am ok with the use of restraints"... Yes, this is clearly related to a personal fantasy of mine.

Is your fantasy of being restrained limited to in a hospital and by a doctor.
I'm sure there are plenty of places with bored security guards where you could act crazy and be restrained.

If you do a good enough job of acting crazy they might believe you and you could be restrained on a regular basis.
