Hey team, not a catch up question, but more of a housing question! hahaha.

I was considering moving down the Melbourne at some point in the next few years, but the only thing really in range would be like Point Cook. Just wanted to know your thoughts and opinions on the area, or if you had any other areas that were somewhat closer? Or the pros and cons to living on the outskirts of the city?

Point Cook is a really nice spot, I used to live pretty close to there. There are a lot of amenities around and it's got a nice little community there, a lot of families live there. Apparently it's like the biggest suburb by population in the country so it must be doing something right?

What I will say is if you're travelling into the city regularly for work, the traffic at peak times is a nightmare! It's only about a 25km trip to the CBD but it often takes well over an hour, and then getting back at peak times is horrendous. But when the traffic is flowing, it's not too bad of a drive. You will need a car btw, the public transport options in the area aren't great.

If the move is still a few years off, I'd suggest just keep an eye on it and see what the pricing is like in other areas closer to the city if that's more your thing. But there are definitely pros and cons living in an area like Point Cook. Not sure if that helps you or not...

Muchly appreciated friend! I was worried about transport but fingers crossed I stay at my current job and only have to do that a few times a week.
I really appreciate the insight!
