Men and Foot Spas: do they mix well?

i was interested in going to get a pedicure, but find it embarrasing, having a total stranger scrub the callouses from my feet in from of the women, being the only guy there. especially since i really wanna get my feet soft and ticklish, my feet haven't been ticklish since i was a kid. and i heard about parrafin waxes, where would i go for that? don't wanna sound like a wuss, i just get embarrased, spend to much cash. but absolutely ticklish feet for me is a must, my dream.

You can do a pedicure yourself. I've seen directions which include using a foot file which is basically sandpaper glued on a narrow paddle. Use foot baths such as Johnson foot Soap. Use foot lotions. Wrap your lotioned feet in plastic wrap (except the toes) and cover with socks at night. Etc. You can find most of these products at your local drug store. People who make posts here have also mentioned Bed and Bath as well as Linens and things as places to find foot care products.

If you live in a large city or a resort area, you may find spas that cater to men as well as women.

What I really feel you should do is have a friend tickle your feet to find out if they are still ticklish. My bet is that they still are but have just not been tickled for a long time. Have your tickler take plenty of time, tickle lightly then tickle more firmly, tickle with fingers then tickle with finger nails, etc.

Pedicures may increase ticklishness a little bit but are not likely to make you ticklish.

They actually have home parrafin wax kits and I hear they really work and are easy to use...and you don't have to go to the pedicurist. And it would be cheaper in the long run to do it yourself.

THere are MANY more men going to pedicurists because of the explosion in the love of sandals and a lot of guys want their feet to look nice if they are exposing them more.
So while you may be alone or one of the few guys in the store at the moment you will definitly not be the only customer.
What you should probably do is go to a pedicurist and get your feet "overhauled" and waxed and what not and then you can get a wax kit to keep your feet maintained...
Another really CHEAP soft foot trick is to simply lotion your feet and then put socks on for maybe a half hour to an hour and your feet will be REALLY SOFT..

It's good to take care of your own feet- you take care of the
rest of yourself, right? But you should still enjoy being pampered
by a woman... it's good to be king for a few moments.

I recently had my first pedicure. I was a bit concerned about
how the female pedicurist would feel about man feet, after all
they mostly deal with females. During the pedicure I was told
that I kept my feet pretty good compared to alot of others
customers. A good pedicurist will include a little foot rub.
That alone makes the akwardness worth it. Feet propped up,
soles facing her, she massaged each sole for maybe two minutes.
I'm not really ticklish on my feet but I did smile when she
hit a 'good' spot. If you are ticklish and like to have your
feet tickled then by all means dive in! If you laugh a bit
and some ladies smile at you because they think it's cute,
is that bad? Sounds like a little thrill to me!

I think more and more this is becoming common and acceptable for men to "indulge" in the way we've gotten to for years, yes?

Tommy's idea for the home kit is a financially sound one and a good choice if you're worried about being embarrassed.

And along that line, if money isn't an issue for you, there are a lot of REALLY nice day spas, some that cater ONLY to men. These places are lavish, they spend more time on you and have a lot more space. Even those that serve both m/f clientele tend to be much more privacy-oriented, all you have to do is ask when you phone for your appt, if the service is performed in a private room. You'll find many that only use a private room, no matter what the service being performed is. (A lot of these spas also do "private parts waxing", massage, etc. so they're already set up for privacy!

BTW--It's only your run of the mill salons (that I think most of us ladies frequent--because it's more cost effective when you go every couple of weeks)that put you right out in public like the scenario you're fearing.

thanks for all the help. luckily a month a ago, i went crazy at Bed, Bath, and Beyond store and bought some great foot lotion, some foot scrub with pumice stones in the soapy mix, a foot filer, pumice stone, and a genius thing: they sold special socks there that was designed to keep yor feet moistured, works awesome, problem was they only came in 1 size as ankle socks, which sucks for me as i have size 13 feet, so the socks barely cover my heels, and i feel like i'm walking on ice when i walk around in them. but next paycheck i'm gonna a foot overhaul at a spa. One more question.... how can i test my foot's ticklishness with no one around to tickle them? i was thinking of jerry-rigging an old fan with feathers, any ideas.
