Meryl Streep? (debatable)

Sorry if this is the wrong board, I couldn't decide which one to put it on.

I was browsing the internet and quite accidentally stumbled on this picture... it's supposedly a behind-the-scenes pic from Adaptation, starring Streep and Nicolas Cage. I didn't think much of it at first, but on closer inspection I wondered if Cage was getting a bit of tickling in there. It's very debatable, but there are a few points of note:

1) The position of his hand means that his fingers are on her sole...
2) She's laughing.
3) If you look carefully, she's not leaning back. It's commonplace for 'lees to sit up sharply when their feet are tickled.
4) She can't do much about it as she has a glass in her hand so she wouldn't appear to be clearly defending herself.
5) Who could waste an opportunity like that anyway?

It's a long shot, but I thought it might be worth seeing what you guys think.

It kinda looks like it tickles her, no doubts about that. But neverthless she doesn't seem to be too ticklish, judging from what you pointed out.

There's some movie where she's sleeping and a sheep starts licking her toes. She reacts ticklishly while still apparently dreaming (thinking it's some person she likes doing it) but when she wakes up and sees the sheep, she screams. I believe the movie is "She-Devil."

Funny you should mention that scene, Mac. I've attached a clip of it (RealPlayer format, and no, I can't convert it) below. (I apologize for its size and quality; I did not make the clip.) I think you've got the movie right, but a dog is licking her feet, not a sheep. (Not that it matters, of course. 😛) Enjoy, everyone. 😀

There is further proof...

In the early 80's Ms Streep did a Shakespeare in the park of "The Taming of the shrew" which aired on PBS 13 in NYC. During the part where Kate (Streep) meets the man who will tame her for the first time, she is cussing him out and trying to throw him out. At one point she is sitting in a chair in a huff and the man simply takes her ankle causing her shoe to fly off and commences to tickle her bare foot throughout a lengthy speech of how a woman should serve a man. She thrashes about in hysterical laughter while he just talks away. This lasts for about a minute and to me it looked very real although it was definately planned. The director thought this would be more comical to see the mad lady suddendly laughing her head off and it worked, the audience laughed too.

Instant schwing for a young me. Unhappily, I never was able to see a rerun of the play again, it must be out there somewhere though. Maybe at the TV and radio museum in NY.

I swear it was her as she was one of the stars, and I can't remember who the guy was though. Very ticklish feet for Ms Streep. As good an actress as she is, I don't think this one was faked.

Guys, it's called ACTING. People fake intense pain and fear all the time, in movies. They can also fake laughter.

I've seen two other versions of "Taming of the Shrew" and in both, the tickling was in there. Again, acting, and a common staging of the play.

If it appears in the media, it probably doesn't belong in this section, because then every mainstream scene would be in this section.
