As most of you know on here, Iam a die hard Atlanta Braves fan, but I was saddened to learn of the passing of legendary Mets Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Murphy tonight. I lived in the New York area for 29 years before moving to Lancaster in 1999, and I always enjoyed listening to Bob. Many times, the Braves-Mets games in New York would be blacked out on the Braves TBS station, so I'd have to watch it on the Mets station. I always liked Bob Murphy, Gary Cohen, and Gary Thorne on the radio better than any of the Mets TV broadcasters, so what I would do is turn on the TV with the sound off, and turn on the radio to listen to Bob's call of the game. He always provided a fair and interesting call of the game, and was with the Mets from their inception in 1962 until his retirement last year at age 78. Rest in peace, Bob, you will be missed by all baseball fans who had the honor of listening to you during your 41 years with the Mets.
