It hasn't been posted here, so I guess either people havent heard about it, or just didnt post about it. There was a crash of an Air France flight in Toronto today, and, miraculously, over 300 people aboard escaped alive, and with very minor injuries. Apparently, from the news reports I heard, the pilot was attempting to land the plane at the airport in Toronto during a severe thunderstorm, and the crash occurred.
During the news report I heard, they had a retired pilot on, who said that the pilot of the jet made the wrong decision by attempting to land the jet in such violent weather, and should have either had the plane in a holding pattern until the weather passed, or diverted to another airport.
I experienced an incident like this once, being on a plane that landed in violent weather. In 1987, I was on a flight from New York to Atlanta with my father. We were going down to see the Braves, and the plane came in at Atlanta airport during a severe thunderstorm. The pilot proceeded with the landing anyway, and there was severe turbulence, and the plane dropped 1000 feet. Thankfully, the plane landed safely, and no one was hurt. It was scary for us, though.
Thank heavens no one in todays incident was hurt seriously. As I had a bad experience landing in a storm, and today's incident occurred, I thought appropriate that I post about it.

It's good to know they all made it out... that's nothing short of a miracle.

I was actually on my way out of Toronto while this was happening... eerie.

Ack! Yes, that was eerie 9s. Glad youre okay.

They were just a bunch of frogs, anyways. Who would really care if they perished?

Cheers.

Yes that accident is just a reminder to us all that although air travel is safe, its not 100% safe. Still it doesn't prevent me from traveling. And to Moses25 they are people, NOT FROGS!

I was actually stuck in the traffic as a result of this incident. A miracle indeed! What a horrifying experience, its more than fortunate that no one was seriously hurt! :wow:

ps, I'm pretty sure Moses was kidding, right? 😕

If the plane was truly hit by lightening, wasn't God then trying to kill them all, and, in fact, failed?

I was Googling, and saw that yes, the plane was indeed carrying some frogs for use in medical research. If they had died, it wouldn't have been that big of a deal; I assume that there were more frogs out there somewhere.

So.....in summary....

plane lands. everyone ok.

Glad everyone made it out. Air France has done it again. Where does it get its pilots/engineers from?
