Mitch Hedberg Dies

No, Bella, I myself have heard of him.

He will be missed by all comedians and fans.

I've never seen any of his actual stand-up routines, but I watch "Shorties Watching Shorties" all the time, and his comedy routines are quite often featured on that show. From what I've seen, he was indeed quite hilarious. I'm very sorry to hear this news. Anytime a little laughter leaves our world, it's a sad occassion. We need all we can get.

This is a list of his best lines. Think of a mix of Steven Wright and a really sweet, mellow hippie dude :redheart:

I am soooooooo glad I got to see him before this happened.

Bella

P.S. if you don't know who Steven Wright is, please don't tell me-I couldn't handle that right now :wow:

Wow, what a sad shocker. I loved his comedy, and it's really tragic that he could die so young.

I can't believe he died. He was awesome. I saw him on Letterman, dl a lot of his stuff off the internet, and even saw him on the "Just for Laughs" comedy festival a Montreal (on tv).

He will be sadly, sadly missed. He was simply amazing... 🙁

I have seen his routines a few times, he was hilarious (that was actually a great way to explain his comedy, Bella...Steven Wright, but as a hippie. That pretty much nailed it).

Oh wow, Bella. I just read that page of one liners you posted a link to in your last reply, and I am in TEARS from laughing so hard. Literal, side splitting, full face flushed sobbing. My hysterical cackling outbursts caused Lazzy to die 3 times in the other room playing Halo 2. I keep scaring the crap out of him and distracting him. But then he came in to see what the fuss was about, read a few of the entries, and wound up laughing his ass off himself. They were so good I just got done calling my Mom to read a few of my favorites to her. Now she's crying from laughing so hard.

It appears this guy was a stand up genius. A true gift to the comedy circuit. I was sad originally when I read this thread, but now I'm devestated. What a loss. True humor brilliance like that does not come by very often.

More, for Mimi

Some are repeats from the other site but most are more of his best. I HIGHLY recommend his DVD, everyone needs to hear him doing 'Smackie the Frog' at least once...

The line about the drunk rabbits destroys me every time.

Bella

How sad. :sadcry:

I was turned-on to Hedberg relatively recently, about a year ago, when a co-worker gave me one of his CDs. Hilarious stuff.

Damn shame. Echoing what Mimi said, the world is in dire need of MORE, not less laughter.

I kept seeing his name popping up all over the place recently due to his death. I clicked on bella's link, and sure enough, I knew exactly who that guy was. I saw him perform on a Comedy Central show a few months ago. He was brilliantly funny and looks a little like I did back in my high school days. The world needs laughter and it seems cruel that a talented person such as he should be taken away from us so soon. 🙁

I was watching a replay of one of his shows on Comedy Central and at the end of it , they posted a photo of him with a note of memory. I was shocked.
Another comedian gone.

I never got to see him live, but Mitch was incrediblly creative & funny. This is so wrong. And just watch the stupid Pope get all the attention!
