My roommate tickles me often...but she hates being tickled. Often she'll poke me with her foot and I'll grab it and tickle her...she'll say 'no!' and pull her foot away...but then a minute later continue to poke me with her foot. I told her once that she should stop putting her foot near me if she didn't want me to tickle them...but she'll still do it. Not sure if she wants me to tickle her or not!...she's had a bad experience with tickling, so if I try she just says she doesn't like it...but then she will go and do what I stated above..maybe she just wants attention?

I'm more inclined to believe that she really wants to be tickled. Why would she keep putting herself in that situation if she doesn't like it? I'd try talking about it...

Who knows? She might like it, but could be shy about liking it.
Or she could hate it... just bring it up casually. Don't be too obvious, though...

She probably enjoys tickling others but she has had a bad tickle experience it may mean she no longer trusts anyone anymore also some females like to hold the power over males. So her tickling you is a sign of that and her poking you and telling you "no" is also a sign. She enjoys teasing you.

Tell her in no uncertain terms that if she continues to do whatever she does, that you will tickle her for x amount of time and follow through! Be nice about it, but follow through. If she gets mad, remind her nicely that you gave her fair warning and will do the same thing again. Then if she does it again, retaliate again. Then talk to her about it. She may be somewhat like you and be uncomfortable talking about tickling.

this. some people are just 'lers. it's a pretty simple concept.

I would guess that it's exactly what it appears to be. She likes poking you enough that it's worth the risk of having her foot tickled.

I think you need to trust your gut on this one. If she had a bad experience before then respect that and see if she's willing to give it another try. If she has a good experience with you, she may trust you enough to continue.

But if your instincts are telling you she really doesn't want to go down that road, respect her wishes and don't push it.
