Great event tomorrow night or actually tonight now.This is a very solid card as far as talent and should make for an entertaining evening.Aside from the main bout,I am most intersted in the Werdum/Silva match up.Werdum is other wordly on the ground with greatly improved stand up and Bigfoot is well rounded,quick,agile and big as hell.With the winner possibly fighting Fedor,providing he wins,makes that fight a lot more intriguing.
I stumbled across this quote and thought, damn.
"He's definitely a different fighter," said Rogers of the heavyweight champion, who will put his legacy and nine-year unbeaten streak on the line Saturday on CBS (9 p.m. ET/PT). "I look into his eyes and I see nothing. I don't see if he's serious. I don't see if he's trying to be funny. I can't sense anything from him. A lot of people say, 'Don't pay attention to his demeanor because it will psyche you out.' It's true. I feel that."
Rogers could pull off the biggest upset in mma history but more than likely he's gonna get smashed,badly.It'll be interesting to see Fedor compete in a cage.The only time it might work against him is on the ground on his back against the cage.On the feet I can't imagine it being a problem because standing in the clinch is Fedor's game.
Hopefully this event will lead to more CBS cards becuase free quality mma is definately a good thing.They are already putting together a Dec. card that looks promising.

give it up to rogers he stood toe to toe with fedor and i think he won the first round. I thought he had fedor finished when he was dropping bombs in the ground and pound
but fedor with that HARD punch put him away.. good fight tho

Awesome night of fights.Great card on free tv and hopefully we will see more in the future.The Werdum/Silva fight bout was a close fight with Silva clearly gassing towards the end of the match up.I expected a little more from both fighters but that's easy for me to say sitting on my couch at home.I don't think we'll see Werdum/Fedor based on Fabricio's performance so more than likely we'll be treated to Fedor/Overeem at some point next year.
I was impressed with Soko's performance in the first round of his fight.He had a couple of nice judo takedowns which had me going but seemed to fade in the second round.Gegard looked good but I can't see him beating the likes of Shogun,Machida,Rogerio.
Miller/Shields was a very tactical ground fight which I found highly entertaining.
With Fedor/Rogers,although Rogers lost he looked better than I though he would.In the first round he landed that jab which really put the fight in his favor early.After that,I saw the round pretty even with both men landing shots on the ground as well as Fedor landing shots on the feet.
The second round was clearly all Fedor.What surprised me the most was Fedor's inability to get away from the cage.With that said,this bout gave Fedor some much needed cage experience.But the thing I find most fascinating is Fedor has finished his last two fights via TKO and KO and he has normally done so via submission.
So,let's see what Strikeforce comes up with next.

First of all, bret rogers was grabbing the cage. I'll give him credit for throwing with fedor. Hes a big dude with very very hard strikes. However, you cant give fedor any opportunities. Fedor is a mythodical fighter. When he fights in the ring he tries to close off the corners, he coudn't do that in the cage. Hes like a snake looking for the kill.
I definately be up for a rematch. I really hope strikeforce becomes a big name. They have alot of talent.

The UFC is awesome but I'll tell ya,Strikeforce is looking pretty good.Their HW division is very solid and with Arlovski probably added that makes it that much deeper.There is sooo much talent unsigned that could really improve Strikeforce as a whole.
We saw Shinya Aoki in the crowd which means he might have fights with Strikeforce in the future.Dan Henderson might be a future addition to the organization.The thought of having two high level organizations once again sounds good to me. 🙂
Strikeforce and Dream are going to work together. Marius Zaromskis (Dream's WW champ) should fight there in the future.
That's why Dream recently adopted the cage and changed its rules.
