On Sunday night , very late at night, I was commanded to do one of my favorite things.
Windows updates.
Since then, my computer has been a nightmare.
Instead of going into sleep mode where I can easily push the button and the computer turns back on.
I'm being forced to restart it several times if I'm off it for any length of time.
I keep getting the message.
Damaged internal disk
Or something like that.
The only good thing is.
In searching for a way to resolve this problem, I resolved another problem that I've had since buying this computer.
It had always been that no matter how high the lower right volume was set, I could never hear it.
Now today the lower volume control became frozen for good.
In searching for a way to resolve that, I came across a tutorial that showed how to resolve volume control problems.
It led me to a control box telling me to look for an internal volume
Sure enough it was set at 59 which I could not hear at all especially with the lower volume frozen.
*I turned it up to 100 and on some sites at least it seems better.
One problem fixed, I think, now I have to see if the disk drive thing can be taken care of with the computer itself
If not it is another call to the tech
