I've read an article stating that the Vikings and the Patriots are in trade negotiations, possibly having Moss come back to the Vikings, has anybody else heard about this?

I haven't read anything about it but my mother told me she heard the same thing about 30-minutes ago. I don't know why the Patriots would do such a thing. Getting draft picks in return would help in the future but losing him hurts their chances of going to the Super Bowl. They weren't a favorite to begin with.

Its a bunch of nonsense thats blown way our of proportion over a joke tweet mistakenly sent

The Minnesota Vikings are attempting to pull off their biggest blockbuster since acquiring Brett Favre.

FOXSports.com has learned that the Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots have been in serious trade talks and are very close to a deal that would send All-Pro wide receiver Randy Moss back to the team that drafted him.

However, Patriots sources say the deal is contigent upon Moss working out a contract with the Vikings. All sides are still trying to hammer out the contract Tuesday.

In a 41-point outburst Monday night over the Dolphins, Moss caught zero passes, and he has made his displeasure known with his contract status in New England.

Moss, 33, was a first-round pick of the Vikings in 1998 and shined for several years before being shipped to Oakland in 2005. The four-time All-Pro and seven-time Pro Bowl selection was traded from the Raiders to the Patriots on Day 1 of the 2007 NFL draft in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the ’07 draft.

In his first three seasons in New England, Moss caught 250 passes for 3,765 yards and 47 touchdowns. In 2010, he has nine catches for 139 yards and three touchdowns.

The Vikings have been searching for a star-caliber receiver and were unable to pick up Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson.

Bill Simmons of ESPN is reporting, sort of, the existence of rumors regarding a trade that would send receiver Randy Moss from the Patriots back to the Vikings.

Wow.

Making the situation even more intriguing is the fact that Simmons inadvertently put the information on his Twitter page at a time that he was intending to send out the information as a direct message only.

Let the chase begin.

The Patriots scored 41 points last night and Moss had zero catches for zero yards. Moss doesn't want to be in New England and most likely won't be there anyway next year. The Patriots have won Super Bowls before with a bunch of "no name" receivers. The trade makes sense for Minnesota. They need a stud receiver with Sidney Rice out.

Good!!! Get his selfish, whiney, disgraceful ass out of Massachusetts!!! I'm so sick and tired of watching his press conference on the news after Game 1 of the season with his "me, me, me" attitude. Terrible teammate, terrible to the fans, just a jerk of a person.

It's official...

The Minnesota Vikings have acquired New England Patriots WR Randy Moss in exchange for a third-round draft choice, sources told Ian Rapoport, of the Boston Herald.

This could make the Vikings a LOT tougher to beat.

He may be a jerk, but a happy, rejuvenated, motivated Randy Moss is a dangerous thing. Watch out NFC North.

Well with that trade New England will go good another 8 to 10 years, since they didn't win a Super Bowl with Moss so they get a 3rd round for him now add in they get Oaklands 1st round for Richard Seymor and I forget who they traded but they also have a 2nd round. I tip my hat to them they do what the Eagles try to do but just do it so much better.

Yea...........except now you're dealing with TWO extremely arrogant people on the Vikings. A quarterback who does whatever the hell he wants, including ignoring the coaches plays and making them up half the time in the huddle on his own. Then you add in an asshole wide receiver who gets BORED when he doesn't get thrown to once ever couple of plays, meaning he'll start taking plays off again. Not a good mix.

Add in a running back who wants 30 to 35 carries a game I just hope that defense can do 3 and out all the time to keep all 3 happy.

So basically the only happy medium means run with Peterson at least once or twice in a 4 down series, followed by Brett Favre making up a play in the huddle that requires him to spin around and make a no-look throw deep to Randy Moss on the other plays. 🙂

Which, BTW, will all go perfectly and Favre will throw for like 25 TD's in the next 12 games, until come postseason when he'll make a spectacularly terrible season ending pass for a pick with the game on the line. Then Moss will cry and want to go to another team and Favre will go back to Mississippi until next September when he'll sign a contract again a week before game 1.

or....all you Vikings haters can leave the thread and stop whining yourselves...It is what it is, and as a Vikings fan, I think this is good for our team regardless if we make it to the Bowl or not 🙂

Agreed, besides you guys have Favre so you already know that the season will end when he does something idiotic in the playoffs 🙂
