If you're into gags for visual stimulation and the simple act of having one on her, ballgags are awesome. If you really wanna keep her quiet, though, a multi-level gag (clean socks balled up in her mouth, covered by quite a few strips of duct tape) would be most effective.

I'm not a big fan of inhibiting my lee's laughter, either. A few times it's been a necessity, tho (think motel rooms). I have a couple big 2 1/2 or 3 foot square silk bandannas (would work with any comfortable matierial-probably better since silk knots are kinda slippy), and I tie a big huge, bulky knot in the center. Actually 2 or 3 on top of each other., then I just tie it off like a cleave gag. I like the look of a cleave gag (useless for killing sound), and dislike ball gags. In most mouths I've run across, the knot is big enough that it stuffs the mouth sufficiently to mute the sound. Looks good, one piece, and it absorbs drool a lot longer.

But I only ever use them when sound is a real issue. Think the last time I used one we still lived in Ohio, and we were visiting my parents.

I know what you are saying. I totally agree with that gags are not good. I mean if you like gags and playfully want to add to a tickle session that is fine and more power to you-if it is what you and your lee like and enjoy. But as for me I am a switch that is all about LOVING to hear the laughter and hear the joy and playful tone of the voice -I don't want to inhibit the laughter, to me that is the best part-that and the second best-seeing the playful involuntary reaction of trying to resist and struggle and thrash and squirm, that is awesome and really great to see. That are two of the greatest things I LOVE about tickling-hearing the lee laugh and seeing the lee enjoy his or her self-seeing their ticklish reactions-to me that is the greatest sight and something I can't hear or see enough of. I am a switch that is all for the laughter and seeing my lee squirm and laugh and smile.
Oh and it is just a bonus and icing on the cake or chocolate on the sundae if I can invoke or get a lee to ticklishly and playfully beg me to continue or better yet beg me to stop tickling him or her, it is great!

Isn't that dangerous? Couldn't the person choke on the socks and not be able to communicate that?

Gags are part of the bondage fetish and there's a certain sense of power and control behind using them just like the sense of control with tickling for a 'ler.

When a 'ler tickles, the sense that they are controlling the lee's reactions gives the 'ler an incredible sense of power and dominance.

For the 'ler it's like being a puppeteer and pulling just the right strings. 'Lers that are in to gags are in to them for a similar reason.

And yes it is true that some gags are dangerous as chocking hazards and worse which is why some have suggested wiffle balls as gags.

That's what a nonverbal safeword is for. A common one is giving the bottom something easy to hold and they drop (or throw it) it as their safeword.

I use gags as part of my bdsm lifestyle. Being the Dominant I enjoy the sense of power and control I have when I use them. I enjoy the control and the power I have over a lee when I am tickling.

I don't however use a gag when I am in a tickling session. The idea of gagging the laughter, the giggles, the begging to stop is too good for me to stifle. I want to hear those sounds. As a Ler I feed of the sounds coming from the lee. The exchange is wonderful between two trusting people.

It is also very true that some gags can be dangerous. When a gag is used I would suggest you give a non verbal safe word to your lee and make certain they know what it means. For this reason I have either a waffle ball gag or a gag that looks similar to a horse bit. It is made from leather and covered in a piece of rubber that is easily taken off for cleaning and also very gentle on the teeth and mouth.

I agree. The best sound-suppressing gag I have ever experienced was a thick athletic sock balled up in my mouth held in place with an Ace bandage wrapped around my head.

That's why a gagged person should never be left alone and should have a safesignal (nonverbal safeword).
