Oh yes, for fun... unless you're one of the thousands of people who didn't make the list. Lots of fun for them! Threads like this are a bad idea, IMHO. Like the "Name the TMF Member you'd like to (blank) the most" threads... you see the same ten or twelve people posting a hundred times, stroking each other's ego, adding people they've forgotten after those who didn't make the list pipe up and say, "Hey, what about me?", then they amend their lists. Meanwhile, again, those who aren't named (if they give a rat's ass, ennyhoo) are left wondering if they've got bad breath or something. And people wonder how, in a community this small, we have subdivisions and cliques and people supposedly getting "snubbed" and people on the outside looking in. Aren't we a little old for this mentality?

I really do think its just for fun because I don't care if anyone looks at my picture or not. I think its fun because most of the top views are of women so you KNOW its just guys who could care less looking for hot chicks!

Don't take it personally. I think I have a few people who like me around here and I dig stats. Not offended in the slightest, save perhaps on behalf of those I've mentioned, who wince at the slight of being overlooked. I don't take it personally... but once again, while it may "Just be numbers" to some, you have to admit that it also rubs their noses in the fact that they were passed over. I knew 30 seconds after I made that post that I'd take flak for it, yet I stand by the spirit of it. Saying that "I can't help the way a person feels" doesn't mitigate calling attention to their exclusion. You might argue, "But I'm not excluding anyone! It's just numbers!"... but can't you see the hole in that logic? By their very nature, the numbers don't lie. All I'm saying is that these posts can be a slap in the face to those who don't make some arbitrary grade, and asking for a little more sensitivity to our neighbors in the community. Put yourself in their shoes, for a moment. How would you feel? Some will raise an eyebrow that this is even an issue, not giving a rat's posterior about it. But you know that there's others who are reading this, nodding agreement, too. People often borrow trouble by speaking without thinking. I think that tendency is exacerbated by the insulation being on the Interet affords us. Let's be more aware of how what we post can affect the people who read it, shall we? Can't we all just get along? 😀 We are the world..... we are the children.... (barf) okay, enough of that.

No, I didn't think people would feel bad that their picture was ranked lower than someone elses...heck I'm ranked 63rd and I wouldn't care if I was last...but that's just me!

Honestly, I'm usually a defender of protecting folks from being offended or being slighted, but this seems like it's going too far even for me. IMO, there's only one word to describe feeling bad about not being in the top 25 viewed pics--or feeling good about it--on this site: pathetic. It's so meaningless and artificial (not to mention unscientific) a number that it barely qualifies as a "statistic" at all. What's more is that it's public information already available on this site. In a discussion forum, there's something fundamentally wrong with agreeing to NOT mention or discuss normal things that inherently come out of this very discussion site!

Remember all the "Who on the TMF would you like to tickle (or be tickled by)" threads? Those ignore probably 99.99% of the members too. Clearly no one loves us. As a service to them, I think I may go back and list myself and the other 29,953 members who were never mentioned in any of those either. lol

It quickly becomes impractical to think about such things catering to all members all the time. The upside is: it's all completely meaningless. This is a silly diversion. That's all.

One thing folks gotta realize and remember, though, is that most of the names in that list are the among the oldest members pictures on the forum. Obviously the longer a picture is up, the more views it gets. It has nothing to do with popularity....merely just length of exposure.
