Have you ever had one of those weekends when all you did was hang out and watch TV?

Well, as I stated in another post, we had a bunch of friends over to hang and relax this past weekend. Since everyone was tired and stressed for various reasons when they arrived, we ended up deciding to put the focus on relaxing. We ended up watching a bunch of movies and stuff all weekend. We got through....

Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang
a few episodes of the Star Trek marathon
11:14
Sleepwalkers
Singing in the Rain
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Canonball Run
part of the Rush 30th Anniv set
Animusic 1 & 2
a few episodes of Jack of All Trades (Bruce Camble)

I think I'm forgetting a couple. Needless to say, we relaxed! And had fun! And ate too much! And....... :cuddle: :grouphug: And..... :tickle: 😛oke3: :2poke:

Sounds like fun....I just KNEW you were gonna say you watched all the Friday the 13TH horror movies in a row. All 114 of them :rotate: HAHA

LOL, Flock. I watched a string of them myself once. But, that was mainly because I was bored and felt like something to laugh at.

V for Vendetta was another one we watched this weekend.

yea one weekend..actually it was one of our wedding anniversary weekends..we shut ourselves up and watched movies on our vcr machine all day and night..hmm that must have been eighteen years ago..if i remember correctly..we were in between homes..renting an apartment and needed something to cheer ourselves up with..and it worked..can't remember offhand what the movies were..but all our favorites, since i recorded them on tape..

I have my shows that I watch for no other reason than to just be entertained such as People's Court (Judge Milian has a great laugh), Dr. Phil, Montel Williams if Sylvia Browne is his guess, King of Queens (I think Kevin James is great at physical comedy), I am watching now Rockstar:Supernova, and I will watch any type of current horror flicks B-type ones to Blockbuster ones. :bouncybou

I love doing that on a dark cold winter weekend with the fireplace going and enough food so i dont have to go out or order in.

yes my wife and I watch about 10 movies over the weekend plus all the series we have Tivo. we started at 7:00 friday and ended at 10:00 p.m. sunday.

If you paused and rewound them all every 15 minutes, how in the world did you get them all in?

:bouncybou

I have more of a tendency to watch entire seasons of tv shows on dvd.

I admit to watching a bit more TV than usual this weekend. The weather was no help, of course. TNT had a day long marathon of 'The Closer' yesterday, and it was hard getting away from that :bump:

my friends and I once spent a full 24 hours watching movies non-stop. It was indeed a crazy night. I don't even remember what we watched.... 😵

I haven't done this in a while, but as each new one came out, I made a point of watching ALL the extended versions of Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings." Other weekends have been dedicated to watching ALL the Star Wars movies, which I've done as 1-6, but still prefer watching as 4-6 then 1-3. I do the same with the Harry Potter movies, as well as rereading each of the books when the next one is about to come out. Big fan of all these. Or sometimes I have a day or weekend, especially a cold and rainy one OR a huge traffic one (like Labor Day!) dedicated to a particular actor/actress or theme (history, mystery, comedy, etc). If I don't feel like a marathon with what I have, hopefully one of the cable channels will provide an alternative! This Labor Day was rather unusual. I didn't do any television or movie marathons!

HA! I actually did one of those this past weekend! I LOVE film with a burning passion and usually hold one themed session each weekend if possible (yes I have no life and quite proud of it thank you very much 🙂 )

Didn't have a particular theme this weekend but here's what my mates and I watched.

Eraserhead
Blue Velvet
A Clockwork Orange
Bully
Gummo
La Belle et la Bete
Muholland Drive
The Elephant Man

....wow I just realized we watched four David Lynch films...guess that may have been some sort of theme.

A Clockwork Orange

We were talking about that one recently. Guess it's time to pull out the tape and watch it again.

ack i will never watch Clockwork Orange again...that rape scene was too disturbing...and my father loved..hmm what was that charles bronson movie where his wife was killed and his daughter raped? o and speaking of movie marathons..dad used to rent loads of movies and watch them on saturday and sunday...his way of relaxing..and he would watch war movies or violent movies...

I have done two movie maratons "recently"
One was a "Lord of the Rings" trilogy that included all 3 discs with ALL the extened footage...that was long!!

The other was "Star Wars" marathon from Episode 1-6.
Man what a difference between 1-3 and 4-6 and esp going from Ep 3 to Ep 4(the Original)...

This past weekend was spontaneous. It's just what we ended up doing. There've been other weekends, usually in the dead of winter, where we've done it as well. We've done the Prophecy, LOTR, Harry Potter and Start Wars series. We've done all musicals, all oldies, all horror, all druggie, all goofy, etc. After watching "Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead" last night, we might have to do a Christopher Walken theme at some point soon. 🙂

I have all three of them on tape...and hope to pick them up on DVD at some point. They're always in the list. "shhh" Actually, since I'm in the mood for Chris, I may go put on the Stepford Wives and veg out to that right now. lol

Well, it wasn't technically a "movie" marathon, but I did spend last weekend watching the entire dvd collection of "Firefly"....but I DID cap it off with the movie "Serenity".
