Bear with me-- I've posted about this before, but now time is getting short.
I bought a new HP Pavillion in August, and I'm having trouble activating the MS Office Word 2003 software. First, I couldn't find the 25-character code the system said I needed, so my brother put it on a 60-day trial basis. That trial runs out October 31. In the meantime, I found the code, but it no longer worked. It seems going on the trial changed the activation sequence I need. First, the system said the 25-character code was on the CD case that came with the computer, but it didn't work because of the trial. Then, the system said the necesary 25-character sequencee was on the box the computer came in. Well, I checked all three boxes, and I found nothing remotely like that on any of them.
I've checked Microsoft's website and the Help section in Office Word. They both say activation of the software is done automatically, without the user even being aware of it. If that's true, my Word software may already be activated-- but why does the dialog box keep appearing? How do I check to see if it is activated?
Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated.
