Alright, Karen pulled a blondie and downloaded a new display image from a popup. Now every time I try to im anybody it kicks me off MSN. I've been told I've contracted an MSN virus.

I've tried deleting the image from my files. Then when it still didn't work, I tried removing MSN alltogether from my computer and re-downloading it. Still nothing. I can't find anything on my add/remove function that looks anything like a virus, even a Trojan horse or anything (Yes, I'm literate in virus types XD). Then I tried running my AVG virus scanner, which found nothing.HEEELLLP! Any ideas?

I would suggest trying additional antivirus programs. There are two good (And also free) ones that I know of besides AVG: avast! and AntiVir.
http://www.free-av.com/
http://www.avast.com/

If neither of those detects anything then it may be less a virus than a problem with MSN (Uninstalling does not remove every file or trace (Not always, anyway) of the program.

Thanks HDS, my AVG is about to run out anyway, so this may well kill 2 birds with one stone ^____^

I second HDS's advice on avast. I've used several anti virus programs in the past and avast has been the best one I've found to date. Meaning, it has never let me down so far (touch wood).

Also has a free version for home users.

I recommend you to install a good antivirus program (if you can to pay for it, better yet), besides some tools like antispam tool. Try to detect the virus with this online service, click here!.

Hey, try looking in your c directory. There might be a file in the c directory which you know doesn't belong. For example, I downloaded a game, and it had a virus on it. I searched all over my computer. In the C drive, I found an icon which resembled C. Montgomery Burns as a vampyre. Now, I know there isn't a windows program that uses that. So I inspected it, and found out it was a virus. So try what I did.

Update---I got Avast and it worked...was able to im Sammi-Chan this evening! Thank you soo much HDS and everybody who had suggestions.

The first time I ran Avast! it found two worms 😵

All antivirus programs are not created equal, as this shows. Some are better than others. In this case, avast! had signatures for what you were infected with. Perhaps AVG has signatures for things avast! does not. Sometimes a good idea to keep a second or third antivirus program installed on your computer and up-to-date but inactive (Two active antivirus programs (Or firewalls, for that matter) can conflict) in case something ever happens. 🙂 Glad it worked, I am.
