I've been meaning to post this for a while, but I'm a horrible procrastinator. So, I finally got around to it.
To be honest, in a lot of ways this seems like the end of an era. One that has spanned, what, maybe 20 years? 15 at least. I remember when MTJ first came out. I was blown away. A real life, physical magazine, that published the content that we loved. And one that MTJ even allowed me to write for, which for me, was a huge deal (and still is).
So many stories of quality and pieces of art were published over the years, and much like the TMF itself, Tickletown, Magic Touch Productions, Tickle Paradise, MTJ became something of a corner stone for the online tickling community. Artists that are still around today, like Ozzy, Bandito, Scavenger, and so many more cut there teeth or increased their output dramatically working for MTJ, as well as many established writers of the early days of the internet, like Shem the Penman, Haltickling, Milagros317, and so many more. And of course, one can't forget one of the earliest video games that was tickling based, created by the extremely gifted and imaginative Kunzite.
I know this isn't the real end for MTJ. Not completely, as MTJ does seem to be continuing on. And who knows, MTJ might be bigger and better in fives years from now. What I do know is that we in the community are better for it being around, and it has helped pave the way for more art and writing in the future, and for that I am Thankful.
Thank You.
