Heya guys an gals.
Just idle curiosity, we got and musicians here? I'm a pianist of 12/13 odd years, a guitarist of 3 and a drummer of a few months 😛 . So who else we got on here the plays music?

I'm a violinist. I'm looking into maybe getting into the guitar later.

Cool, never properly tried a violin really 🙁 . Next instrument is a saxophone I think though 😛 .

The violin is one of the more difficult instruments to learn. It was my first instrument too, so that didn't make it easier.

I found guitar quite easy to get to grips with after doing piano for so long. Drums too 🙂 . Hopefully its the same for other instruments, cause I love to play and want to learn more!

Yeah, I think that in situations where you try harder instruments first, it makes it alot easier to learn less complicated ones. It's sometimes very easy to make that transition.

I play and teach the drums. I'm in the UK and am going through all the grade exams in drumming. At the moment I only teach absolute beginners.

We could form a band called "The lee's and lers"

Got any more band names we could use?

I know how that is. I have dry spells sometimes, and I haven't played in a long time. I've already forgotten some of the more advanced practice lessons...

Hehe the Lee's sounds good! I've only been playing drums for a few months really, but drummers are so rare I'm now "the drummer" in our band 😛 . Already looking to get myself a ride to go with my kit, but so far a semi decent one would cost more than the whole kit! And i've already sold my Fender stratocaster to get my drums in the first place 🙁 .

Well, based on my screen name, I'm a drummer of close to 18 years. I do play in a fairly well known rock band that I will keep to myself for now. No offense to anyone here but I've seen some tough to read posts about people in the past and don't need any of those types heading over to my bands page and wreaking havoc.

For the most part, everyone here is a joy to be associated with.

Even though I rarely post, I'm watching from the sidelines.

Right now I'm working on learning the acoustic guitar actually. After that I'll work on mastering the electric one. I'm still learning though, so I'm no Eric Clapton, John Petrucci, or Neal Schon yet or anything.

I USED to play the piano, but only to Grade 4 standard. Plus, last time I actually played was when I was 11, about 10 years ago. Since then, I haven't picked up another musical instrument.

Does playing the vocal cords count? I've been a vocalist since Junior High, now mostly doing church stuff, but, being a bass/baritone with good volume, I can sing lead or harmonize with just about anything...

I play a little piano and I've been playing guitar for 2 years now. I took lessons for about 1 and a half and now I've just been going by ear.

Here's some of my stuff, I'm not that good, and I probably know the beginning of billions of songs only because I never finish learning them. So whatever.

We have Fur Elise, just because I like how it sounds and it's fun to play
some Collide by Howie Day and I suck really bad with this song
Sweet Home Alabama which was the first real song I learned to play on my own, by ear, yeah it rocks
And part of Tears in Heaven

Hopefully they work for you guys, I didn't really know how to use winzip, oh well..

I play bass and guitar or i should say i TRY to play them because i'm not really all that good at guitar. However nothing is more fun than grabbing my guitar and playing along with some heavy ass riffs. RIP Dimebag.
