I've been up way to long tonight. So anyway...because I am an ISTP, I just shift from one thing to another. So right now...i'm thinking about the universe.

Ever thought about those theories about parallel dimensions and multiple universes? I mean it's not like it's a new concept. From the early days of America...to dark age Europe...to now. Time travel and portals and magic and whatnot. I think i've had these thoughts since childhood and it's just maddening to me.
I was just reading up on some theories like the Big Bang leading to the Big Crunch and the bubble theory. You know...just some random things. It really is interesting. Two reasons. 1. Can't be proved or disproved. 2. No way to test. I mean currently we probably only have observed 0.000000000000000000000001% of the universe. And that's out of infinity. I doubt we'll ever go beyond that till either we make leaps and bonds in technology within at least 500-1000 years or something else comes here...if possible. Hopefully we don't kill ourselves by then. But anyway...

Now that i've got that out of the way. Which theory seems to most interesting? I prefer the multiuniverse theory. Multiple existences that we're not even aware of, cannot imagine how to imagine it possible and maybe even involving the same universal objects but with different evolutions.

(Note...keep your doomsday theories out of this thread. I get enough from the news...we don't need it here).

I understand the concept of parallel universes and multiverses. I think that they're interesting concepts. The one that really annoys me are those "Schroedinger's cat" universes where there is an alternative reality created for every decision made and not made. Those aside my favorite concept is the dimensions that we can't see. Those are real in the here and now. They're small and essentially rolled up. A higher dimensional being could see them normally, but since we only perceive three-dimensional space can't see them. A good book to read is The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene. It was also a special on Nova, but the book goes into good detail. I read it twice, still can't quite grasp it all.

Hmmm, Multiverse and alternate universes eh?

Well, I believe that instead of a different universe for every possible outcome there are different universes with many different settings (aka histories) that are completely not like our own universe.

I just can't imagine a benevolent all powerful being creating a universe or several universes where evil wins ya knows? I believe the key word is balance and every universe has some sort of balance between the forces of good and evil.

Oh, and in case anyone asks, yes I believe in god (or the ultimate as it prefer to call it) and it's son but I believe that belief itself plays no part in the celestial bureaucracy of the afterlife in the determination of what path a soul must tread after death. Instead, I believe it is the total amount of consequences (both positive and negative) of any and all actions a person takes in his life that determines whether he/she faces a rocky road in the next existence. I believe that angels, god, and even death itself as well as demons are the only beings that can weigh every single consequence throughout all of time that a single action a person makes has on everything in the universe. Ironically divinity probably comes with it's limitations some what ya knows? God and whatever other powers can't probably directly interfere in the affairs of the material world ya knows?

Well, I just believe god loves everything and everyone so much that he wouldn't make a universe were evil would have free reign. Thus, alternate universes function alot like ours I believe and are not based on the principle that everything that can happen can indeed does happen. I could be wrong though but I hope I'm not.
