My 1,000th Post

With my 1,000th post, I'd like to take the time to thank everyone here for being a part of this growing, loving community. It's the folks here who have helped me to realize that I have nothing to be ashamed of...and nothing to fear but a really good set of restraints!!! 😛

So thanks, everyone...for everything...

To those who have wondered or cared where I've been, on top of personal drama and attempting to rent a house (we are getting a freaking SWEET house!!!), I've been lurking in the shadows for a while, because either a) there wasn't anything for me to post about or respond to, or, and this is the main reason, b) I haven't felt comfortable posting for a while. In the course of the past month or two, I've been verbally assaulted by members of my own community for being who I am. I've always been the same old Camel, here to make friends and maybe learn something about life and myself. But the second I decided to post about a few things that might let people under the surface of who I am, I got a lot of discrimination, which was handled properly by those who have the power to do so. Regardless, these verbal attacks were unnecessary, and pretty much made me not want to be here. So I have been keeping myself away, so I don't get hurt. It would be one thing if it were some shmuck on the street giving me crap for being gay, or for the myriad of things I've been hurt over around here. But to have members of my own community give me crap for POSTING AT ALL...that was the last straw. So I'll be around...but until I know that this place is back to normal, I'll probably continue to lurk. Kinda sad, really...a few bad apples have to go ruin things for the rest of us who are here for a pure purpose.

That being said, I still love the good folks here who make me smile whenever I peruse their thoughts on the boards...so thanks to you all for continuing to make me smile.

I consider you to be one of the most valuable members of this board. I admire your personal courage in discussing controversial issues with grace, class, and dignity. You have always been helpful to newbs, to shy people, and to the community in general, offering intelligent and thoughtful comments on a wide array of topics.

Unfortunately, every message board has its trolls and problem users, as well as genuine misunderstandings between people who meant well, but we try our best to keep the board peaceful in accordance with the forum rules. -laughs- I'm not gonna sympathize or make any excuses for those who have mocked your sexuality because there is no sympathy warranted. I believe if it makes you happy and doesn't hurt others, then by all means persue what makes you happy! Some people don't understand that love doesn't hold boundaries between people because of what some stupid shmuck set. Their loss, not yours, be who you are and don't be afraid to post. I feel that if someone makes an attempt to insult anything you've said by mocking your decisions or sexuality, then it's a last ditch effort and they've lost. (Kind of like something that fights the most before it dies.) Don't worry about those guys, they aren't even worth your time of day. Speaking of which...have a smashing day!

Though, you don't really know me, I have known you since the very dawn of this forum. Of all the usernames I have associated with this site, yours is always one of the biggest in my mind. I hope that you do not decide to leave because a few nay sayers intrude where they don't belong.
Remember that for rvery one person who dosen't like you here, there are literally a hundered that do. Myself included(in the like you catagory, I mean).

As for the 1000 post mark, good for you. One day, I hope to get that high myself.
