My Beloved Tiger Stadium Being Torn Down

Tiger Stadium in Detroit is being torn down. Many a day was spent at "The Corner" when I was a kid. I drove by it the other day and couldn't hold back the tears. So long. You will be missed!!!

I know how you feel. Ebbets Field is long gone.

I guess the only two stadiums left from the first half of the 20th century are Fenway Park and Wrigley Field.

I was at the final game played there and just recently sold the ticket stub on e-bay. Comerica Park is superior to Tiger Stadium in pretty much every way, but I still miss the old ballpark.

Im surprised it was still standing this long after they moved to Comerica.

The older stadium was far superior in its aesthetics and homerun porch

I loved that old place, too, but I can't say it was replaced too soon. The Tigers got almost a century out of it. And I like Comerica. I can't believe I'd have liked anything the Tigers might have built in the 1960s or 1970s had they replaced it then. (Remember the Silverdome? Yuck. Is that still there?)
