Thats a really funny, very good idea in theory, but its only evading the issue itself. And the person you would be flaming with knows you are seething despite these pictures and the smilies that accompany them. I don't see how they are more than a cheap shot that the poster couldn't have delivered on their own effectively. The fact they need a picture to say something says alot.

I still think ignoring a person is the best thing to do, as by posting a picture you are only egging them on. And I'm sure that there are pictures created for them to respond to someone that would post these pictures. So is there really an advantage in using them? I wonder.

It just so happens theres this punk kid on another website forum, its an anime forum, and he thinks he knows it all about a particular anime series. He doesn't know jackshit but he pretends like he does and actually corrects people that know more about it than he does, like myself. Now I COULD use these pictures, but in my example, how would you suppose they would help? Wouldn't they only make it worse?

Inevitably, by your own admission of sorts, aren't these pictures and using them sort of a cheat? They're good for a few laughs, and then what? You know what I mean?
 
Me too, but theres just some things a picture can't fix. I've both flammed and have been flammed. Its not fun and its not pretty at times. The person you are being flammed by doesn't give a damn about a picture, most likely, and would likely point out how pathetic it is that you went out of your way to find a picture like this just to show them up. The poster will want to think its cute, and people will laugh along, hopefully to the disgrace of the flamer. But when thats over its back to business and what good did the picture do?

I know this is meant to be lighthearted way of 'flipping someone off' basically, but doesn't it just make things worse? Unless you are a mod that posts such a picture, closes the thread, and therefore gets the last word, I don't see how a picture helps at all. It just adds fuel to the fire. Does anyone agree with that?

Sorry for being jaded about it, but as someone who has been at the front of many a flames I know that a comical picture is fleeting and ultimately someone has to say something to defend themselves.

If you mean me, Ann, I don't see how I've done that. Just because I've admitted that I've taken part in such a thing doesn't set myself up. I'm being big enough to admit it. Some people would excuse themselves. I won't do that.

But see, thats the problem. You won't know until you know the person well enough. I personally don't know if it was sarcastic or a joke. Maybe you or Ray do, but theres no way for me to know that.

The worst thing I could do is assume. I refuse to do that. And I've been dealt my fair share of people assuming of me lately. So forgive me if I seem a little defensive or ancy. 🙂
