my fishy died this morning!!!

this is sad to me!

I have a tank of some lovely fish, 2 bala sharks, 1 angel fish, 1 pleco, and I had 2 tiger barbs.
But I woke up this morning and my one tiger barb..tweedle dee..was found dead.


I know some people might say its just a fish...but has that ever happened to anyone, you get so attached to your fish its heart breaking to flush them down the toilet?

well anyways, what a great way to wake up huh?

Actually, I was pretty broken up when my Pirahnas contracted some tank disease and died.

Aside from those, I've never really owned fish before. Though, to be honest, since I was eight, I had always toyed around with the idea of owning Bala Sharks.

They look just like reef sharks but without the hassle of all the flesh eating n' stuff.

very sad news indeed, my condolences ....ive had a tank for 5 years and have lost a few fish, its never fun, you may want to check the PH level just to rule out that as a possible cause. peace.........BLUE_THUNDER

We have a small tank too. Over the last year we've lost two black Tetras, and our bottom feeder, Mr. Whiskers. Isabeau's right, a pet is a pet, no matter if they have feathers, scales or tails.

I'm so sorry, Irish. I've cried myself having to lay a few fish I was particularly fond of to rest. It's perfectly normal to mourn the loss of any pet. Just because it's one you can't hold and pet, doesn't make it any less important.

We lost 10 a couple weeks ago...watching my little one's face as we flushed them brought tears to MY eyes for sure....

Aww sweetie! I'm sorry to hear about your fishie.

Don't know if I've ever mentioned it... I may have... but I used to breed tropical fish for extra money when I was in Junior high/High school. And tiger barbs are VERY social fish! They like to school and such.

Soooo my whole point is that to make sure you get another one (two more is better) so that your remaining fishy doesn't get lonely! He could start to hide, pick on other fish... or even die.

Just some fishy advice from one good friend to another. Hey, if I'm going to be a nerd I might as well use it eh?

I have had to put down three elderly dogs in my life, another dog was hit by a car and killed, one of our cats was killed viscious dog and a few other assorted hampsters and fish died as well. Take it from me, It doesn't matter what the pet as when he or she dies there is always a sense of sadness and loss. May I offer my condolences to you.
